Abstract

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for filtering of a rectifier in a wireless power receiver. In one aspect a wireless power receiver apparatus is provided. The receiver apparatus includes a coil circuit configured to wirelessly receive power via a wireless field. The receiver apparatus further includes a rectifier circuit configured to provide direct-current (DC) based at least in part on the received power. The receiver apparatus further includes a first filter circuit electrically connected between the coil and the rectifier circuit and configured to reduce emissions from the rectifier circuit and configured to maintain a first impedance presented by the rectifier circuit substantially equal to a second impedance presented to the coil circuit. The receiver apparatus further includes a band-stop filter circuit configured to electrically isolate emissions from the rectifier circuit.

Claims

1. A wireless power receiver apparatus, the apparatus comprising:

a coil circuit configured to wirelessly receive power via a wireless field;

a rectifier circuit configured to provide direct-current (DC) based at least in part on the received power;

a first filter circuit electrically connected between the coil and the rectifier circuit and configured to reduce emissions from the rectifier circuit and configured to maintain a first impedance presented by the rectifier circuit substantially equal to a second impedance presented to the coil circuit; and

a band-stop filter circuit configured to electrically isolate emissions from the rectifier circuit.

The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the band-stop filter circuit is configured to electrically isolate emissions to reduce emissions from the rectifier circuit, and wherein the band-stop filter circuit is further configured to increase an amount of impedance between the rectifier circuit and a capacitor at an operating frequency.

3. The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first filter circuit comprises a ferrite bead and a capacitor circuit.

The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the coil is configured to resonate at substantially 6.78 MHz, wherein the first filter circuit is configured to reduce harmonic emissions between substantially 60-250 MHz and 800-2000 MHz from the rectifier, and wherein the band-stop filter circuit is configured to reduce harmonic emissions from 30 to 120 MHz.

5. The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the coil circuit comprises a coil comprising an electrical central ground configured to reduce harmonic coupling between 100 and 250 MHz.

6. The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the rectifier circuit comprises one or more diodes having a junction capacitance value substantially equal to or greater than 75 pF.

The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the band-stop filter circuit comprises a first band-stop filter circuit, wherein the receiver apparatus further comprises a second band-stop filter circuit configured electrically isolate emissions of a ground connection from the rectifier circuit at an operating frequency.

The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first filter circuit is configured to maintain the first impedance presented by the rectifier circuit substantially equal to the second impedance presented to the coil circuit by maintaining the first impedance viewed into the rectifier circuit substantially equal to the second impedance viewed into the first filter circuit from the coil circuit at an operating frequency.

The receiver apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first filter circuit is configured to maintain the first impedance presented by the rectifier circuit substantially equal to the second impedance presented to the coil circuit such that the first filter circuit performs substantially zero impedance transformation at an operating frequency.

10. A method of filtering at a wireless power receiver, the method comprising:

wirelessly receiving power via a coil circuit, the wirelessly received power received via a wireless field;

rectifying at least part of the received power to a direct-current (DC) via a rectifier circuit;

filtering emissions from the rectifier circuit via a first filter circuit while maintaining a first impedance presented by the rectifier circuit substantially equal to a second impedance presented to the coil circuit; and

electrically isolating emissions from the rectifier circuit via a band-stop filter circuit.

11. The method of claim 10, wherein electrically isolating emissions comprises reducing emissions from the rectifier circuit and increasing an impedance between the rectifier circuit and a capacitor at an operating frequency.

12. The method of claim 10, wherein filtering emissions via a first filter circuit comprises filtering via a ferrite bead and a capacitor circuit.

13. The method of claim 10, wherein wirelessly receiving power via a coil circuit comprises wirelessly receiving power via a coil circuit configured to resonate at substantially 6.78 MHz, wherein filtering emissions comprises reducing harmonic emissions between substantially 60-250 MHz and 800-2000 MHz from the rectifier, and wherein electrically isolating emissions via the band-stop filter circuit comprises reducing harmonic emissions from 30 to 120 MHz.

14. The method of claim 10, further comprising reducing harmonic coupling between 100 and 250 MHz via an electrical central ground of a coil of the coil circuit.

15. The method of claim 10, further comprising electrically isolating a ground connection from the rectifier circuit at an operating frequency via a second band-stop filter circuit.

16. A wireless power receiver apparatus comprising:

means for wirelessly receiving power via a wireless field;

means for providing direct-current (DC) based at least in part on the received power;

means for filtering to reduce emissions from the means for providing direct-current, the means for filtering comprising means for maintaining a first impedance presented by the means for providing direct-current equal to a second impedance presented to the means for wirelessly receiving power; and

means for electrically isolating emissions from the means for providing direct-current.

17. The receiver apparatus of claim 16, wherein the means for filtering comprises a ferrite bead and a capacitor circuit.

18. The receiver apparatus of claim 16, wherein the means for wirelessly receiving power comprises means for resonating at substantially 6.78 MHz, wherein the means for filtering comprises means for means for reducing harmonic emissions between substantially 60-250 MHz and 800-2000 MHz from the means for providing direct-current at an operating frequency, and wherein the means for electrically isolating comprises means for reducing harmonic emissions from 30 to 120 MHz at the operating frequency.
