Abstract

A computer implemented method and computer program product provides for announcing file availability. A source device receives a uniform resource locator (URL). The source device reports the URL, the URL corresponding to an event and to a network addressable server.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method to announce file availability, the computer implemented method comprising:

receiving a uniform resource locator (URL); and

reporting the URL, the URL corresponding to an event and to a network addressable server.

2. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the event is a bounded geographic area.

3. The computer implemented method of claim 1, wherein the event is a predetermined time.

4. The computer implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving location information.

5. The computer implemented method of claim 4, wherein receiving location information comprises:

receiving user input of an event description, wherein the event description is a human language description of the event, and reporting the uniform resource locator further comprises reporting the user input.

6. The computer implemented method of claim 5, wherein reporting the uniform resource locator further comprises:

determining that a client device requests at least the URL; and

responsive to a determination that the client device requests at least the URL, transmitting the uniform resource locator to the client device.

7. The computer implemented method of claim 6, wherein transmitting further comprises:

receiving a wirelessly delivered packet from the client device.

8. The computer implemented method of claim 7, wherein a source device recevies the URL;

reports the URL;

receives location information;

receives user input of the event description;

determines that the client device requests at least the uniform resource locator;

transmits the uniform resource locator to the client device; and

receives the wirelessly delivered packet from the client device, the computer implemented method further comprising;

the source device determining that the client device requests a configuration file; and

the source device transmitting the configuration file to the client device, wherein the configuration file comprises the event description.

9. A computer implemented method to announce a uniform resource locator, the computer implemented method comprising:

receiving user input describing the uniform resource locator; and

wirelessly transmitting a service set identifier (SSID) comprising the uniform resource locator as a wireless identifier.

10. The computer implemented method of claim 9, wherein the wireless identifier is a service set identifier (SSID) according to an IEEE protocol.

11. The computer implemented method of claim 9, wherein the wireless identifier is an identifier according to Bluetooth protocol.

13. A computer program product to announce file availability, the computer program product comprising:

one or more computer-readable, tangible storage devices;

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to receive an uniform resource locator (URL); and

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to report the URL, the URL corresponding to an event and to a network addressable server.

14. The computer program product of claim 13, wherein the event is a bounded geographic area.

15. The computer program product of claim 13, wherein the event is a predetermined time.

16. The computer program product of claim 13, further comprising:

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to receive location information.

17. The computer program product of claim 16, wherein program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to receive location information comprises:

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to receive user input of an event description, wherein the event description is a human language description of the event; and

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to report the uniform resource locator further comprises reporting the user input.

18. The computer program product of claim 17, wherein program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to report the URL further comprises:

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to determine that a client device requests at least the URL; and

program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices, to transmit the uniform resource locator to the client device, responsive to a determination that the client device requests at least the uniform resource locator.

19. The computer program product of claim 18, wherein the wireless identifier is a media access control address.

20. The computer program product of claim 18, further comprising program instructions, stored on at least one of the one or more storage devices to transmit an access code that corresponds to the URL.
