Abstract

A computer implemented method of creating, displaying, and interfacing an infinite navigable media wall includes identifying available media from storage accessible by the computer, generating a logical set of media from the available media, generating the infinite navigable media wall by placing graphical representations of media in the logical set of media on a display of the computer, and displaying the infinite navigable media wall on the display of the computer.

Claims

1. A computer implemented method of creating, displaying, and interfacing an infinite navigable media wall, the method comprising the steps of:

identifying available media from storage accessible by the computer;

generating a logical set of media from the available media;

generating the infinite navigable media wall by placing graphical representations of media in the logical set of media on a display of the computer; and

displaying the infinite navigable media wall on the display of the computer.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

extracting meta-data from media in the logical set of media.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

extracting meta-data from XML files corresponding to media in the logical set of media.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

sorting the available media according to a user preference.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

sorting the available media according to a remote preference.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

filtering the available media according to a user preference.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

filtering the available media according to a remote preference.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

extracting information from the media in the logical set of media.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

extracting information from remote storage corresponding to media in the logical set of media.

10. The method of claim 1,

wherein the infinite navigable media wall is navigable by gesture interface on a touch screen of the computer.

11. The method of claim 1,

wherein the infinite navigable media wall is dynamically regenerated in accordance with user input.

12. The method of claim 1,

wherein the generating of the infinite navigable media wall presents a wall is bounded only by the limitations of the computer, regardless of the amount of media in the logical set of media.

13. The method of claim 1,

wherein placing includes placing the graphical representations of media in the logical set of media in accordance with a predetermined pattern.

14. A non-transistory computer-readable medium comprising software instructions that,

when executed by a processor of a computer, perform the method of creating, displaying, and interfacing an infinite navigable media wall, the method comprising the steps of:

identifying available media from storage accessible by the computer;

generating a logical set of media from the available media;

generating the infinite navigable media wall by placing graphical representations of media in the logical set of media on a display of the computer; and

displaying the infinite navigable media wall on the display of the computer.

15. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

extracting meta-data from media in the logical set of media.

16. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

extracting meta-data from XML files corresponding to media in the logical set of media.

17. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

sorting the available media according to a user preference.

18. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

sorting the available media according to a remote preference.

19. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

filtering the available media according to a user preference.

20. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

filtering the available media according to a remote preference.

21. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

extracting information from the media in the logical set of media.

22. The computer-readable medium of claim 14, further comprising:

extracting information from remote storage corresponding to media in the logical set of media.

23. The computer-readable medium of claim 14,

wherein the infinite navigable media wall is navigable by gesture interface on a touch screen of the computer.

24. The computer-readable medium of claim 14,

wherein the infinite navigable media wall is dynamically regenerated in accordance with user input.

25. The computer-readable medium of claim 14,

wherein the generating of the infinite navigable media wall presents a wall is bounded only by the limitations of the computer, regardless of the amount of media in the logical set of media.

26. The computer-readable medium of claim 14,

wherein placing includes placing the graphical representations of media in the logical set of media in accordance with a predetermined pattern.
