Abstract

Generally, methods of analyte monitoring management, and articles of manufacturing related thereto, are provided. The methods include receiving analyte measurement data and analyzing the analyte measurement data for health related parameters. Recommendations are determined for creating or modifying a treatment program based on the analysis, and provided within a user-interface that enables a user to create or modify the treatment program. Further, generally, methods of for managing analyte measurement data, and articles of manufacturing related thereto, are provided. The methods include receiving analyte measurement data that represent data collected over a time period, and analyzing the analyte measurement data for analyte episodes within that time period. Threshold based episodes and/or rate-of-change based episodes may be determined.

63. A method for analyte monitoring management, comprising:

receiving analyte measurement data, the analyte measurement data representing analyte measurement data collected over a time period;

analyzing the analyte measurement data for health related parameters;

determining recommendations for creating or modifying a treatment program based on the analysis, wherein the recommendations modulate the health related parameters to improve one or more of the health related parameters;

generating a user-interface to enable a user to create or modify the treatment program;

wherein the user-interface provides the recommendations to guide the user in creating or modifying the treatment program, wherein the recommendations are optional and not required to be implemented; and

configuring an analyte monitoring device according to the created or modified treatment program.

64. The method of claim 63, wherein the user-interface enables the user to set reminder schedules for performing a blood analyte measurement, and wherein the configuring of the analyte monitoring device comprises programming the analyte monitoring device with the reminder schedule.

65. The method of claim 63, comprising generating a report summarizing data related to the created or modified treatment program.

66. The method of claim 63, comprising generating patient education material.

67. The method of claim 63, comprising establishing a communication link with the analyte monitoring device, wherein the analyte measurement data is received via the communication link.

68. The method of claim 63, wherein the recommendations comprise a recommendation for creating or modifying medication parameters of the treatment program.

69. The method of claim 68, wherein the recommendation for creating or modifying the medication parameters are provided for different time periods including meal periods or fasting periods.

70. The method of claim 68, wherein the medication is insulin.

71. The method of claim 63, wherein the user interface comprises a screen including a summary of the health related parameter from the analysis.

72. The method of claim 63, wherein the health related parameters comprise a risk of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.

73. The method of claim 63, wherein the health related parameters comprise a deviation of median glucose with respect to a target range.

74. The method of claim 63, wherein the health related parameters comprise a degree of glucose variability.

75. The method of claim 63, wherein the user-interface provides education or reference material.

76. The method of claim 63, wherein the analyte is glucose or a ketone body.

77. The method of claim 63, wherein the analyzing the analyte measurement data for health related parameters comprises analyzing the analyte measurement data for analyte episodes within the time period;

wherein the analyte episodes comprise at least one threshold based episode;

wherein the at least one threshold based episode is based on measurements meeting a threshold value for entering the at least one threshold based episode, and wherein the at least one threshold based episode requires at least one of;

a minimum number of measurements meeting the entrance threshold;

a minimum duration of time meeting the entrance threshold; and

a minimum area for measurements meeting the entrance threshold.

78. The method of claim 63, wherein the analyzing the analyte measurement data for health related parameters comprises analyzing the analyte measurement data for analyte episodes within the time period;

wherein the analyte episodes comprise at least one rate-of-change based episode;

wherein the at least one rate-of-change based episode requires a core of the episode to meet a threshold rate for a duration threshold.
