Abstract

The present analysis systems and methods provide a dynamic graphical user interface through which a user can view and modify a trading strategy. The various parts of the strategy may be graphically displayed to the user, and any modification to the strategy made by the user may be dynamically integrated into feedback of the graphical user interface.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a data unit configured to receive data from at least one data source, the received data being historical data related to pricing of a subject item;

a visualization unit configured to display numerical data related to the subject item and a chart graphically representing an initial transaction strategy for the subject item; and

a selection unit configured to receive a first user manipulation of the chart;

the visualization unit being further configured to update the numerical data in response to the first user manipulation of the chart.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the graphical representation of the initial transaction strategy comprises a non-numerical depiction of the transaction strategy.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the user manipulation comprises an adjustment of the non-numerical depiction of the transaction strategy.

4. The system of claim 3, the visualization unit being further configured to update the numerical data to match a result of the first user manipulation to the chart.

5. The system of claim 1, the chart being a line graph.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the user manipulation comprises a numerical entry adjusting the line graph.

7. The system of claim 1, the chart of the initial transaction strategy comprises a set of two or more distinct and separately labeled parts of the transaction strategy, each displayed as a line graph.

8. The system of claim 1, the subject item being a stock.

9. A computer program product embodied in a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product configured to effectuate a method, the method comprising:

accessing a plurality of historical data related to pricing of a subject item;

displaying a first line graph representing an initial transaction strategy for the subject item;

receiving a first user-provided adjustment to the first line graph;

incorporating the first user-provided adjustment into the initial transaction strategy to generate a customized transaction strategy; and

calculating numerical data based on applying the customized transaction strategy to the historical data.

10. The computer program product of claim 9, the method further comprising displaying two or more parts of the customized transaction strategy as two or more other line graphs.

11. The computer program product of claim 10, the method further comprising displaying a graphical representation of combining the two or more other line graphs into the first line graph

12. The computer program product of claim 9, the method further comprising:

displaying two or more parts of the initial transaction strategy as two or more other line graphs; and

displaying two or more parts of the customized transaction strategy as two or more other line graphs.

13. The computer program product of claim 9, the method further comprising:

displaying the numerical data;

receiving a second user-provided adjustment to the first line graph; and

dynamically updating the numerical data in response to the second user-provided adjustment.

14. The computer program product of claim 9, the subject item being a stock, and the initial transaction strategy being a trading strategy.
