Abstract

In one embodiment, a mobile device comprising a front-side touch display and a back-side touch surface determines a touch gestured by a user of the mobile device based on touch inputs to the front-side touch display and touch inputs to the back-side touch surface.

Claims

1. An apparatus of a first user, comprising:

a device housing;

a memory;

one or more main processors;

a first touch display disposed on a front side of the device housing;

a second touch surface disposed on a back side of the device housing;

a program comprising computer-readable instructions operative, when executed, to cause the one or more processors to;

in response to one or more touch inputs generated at the second touch surface and the first touch display during presentation of an application user interface at the first touch display;

determine a touch gesture based on one or more touch inputs generated by the first touch display and the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the program further comprises computer readable instructions operative to cause the one or more processors to:

access data identifying one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface;

determine one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface based on the data identifying the one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface; and

adjust presentation of content displayed at or near the one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the program further comprises computer readable instructions operative to cause the one or more processors to:

access data identifying one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface;

determine one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface based on the data identifying the one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface; and

transition content displayed at or near the one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface to a pre-determined position of the application user interface.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the pre-determined position of the application user interface is a center of the application user interface.

5. A method, by a computing device, comprising:

in response to one or more touch inputs generated at a second touch surface and a first touch display during presentation of an application user interface at the first touch display, wherein the second touch surface being disposed on a back side of a device housing of the computing device and the first touch display being disposed on a front side of the device housing of the computing device;

determining a touch gesture based on one or more touch inputs generated by the first touch display and the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

accessing data identifying one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface;

determining one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface based on the data identifying the one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface; and

adjusting presentation of content displayed at or near the one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface

7. The method of claim 5, further comprising:

accessing data identifying one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface;

determining one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface based on the data identifying the one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface; and

transitioning content displayed at or near the one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface to a pre-determined position of the application user interface.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the pre-determined position of the application user interface is a center of the application user interface.

9. One or more computer-readable tangible storage media embodying software operable when executed by a computing device to:

in response to one or more touch inputs generated at a second touch surface and a first touch display during presentation of an application user interface at the first touch display, wherein the second touch surface being disposed on a back side of a device housing of the computing device and the first touch display being disposed on a front side of the device housing of the computing device;

determine a touch gesture based on one or more touch inputs generated by the first touch display and the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface.

10. The media of claim 9, further comprising software operable when executed by the computing device to:

access data identifying one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface;

determine one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface based on the data identifying the one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface; and

adjust presentation of content displayed at or near the one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface

11. The media of claim 9, further comprising software operable when executed by the computing device to:

access data identifying one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface;

determine one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface based on the data identifying the one or more locations of the second touch surface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface; and

transition content displayed at or near the one or more locations of the application user interface corresponding to the one or more touch inputs generated by the second touch surface to a pre-determined position of the application user interface.

12. The media of claim 11, wherein the pre-determined position of the application user interface is a center of the application user interface.
