- an imaging device;
a processor coupled to the imaging device; and
memory coupled to the processor and comprising one or more executable instructions configured to be executed by the processor, the executable instructions comprising instructions for;
capturing an image of a gauge with the imaging device, the gauge displaying a gauge value for an operating parameter of an asset;
identifying the gauge value in the image;
determining from the gauge value a first value having units of measure which are compatible with a data acquisition device; and
generating an output signal reflecting the first value.

Abstract
Inspection systems and methods are described that can correlate different types of data and, more particularly, can associate data displayed visually on gauges with data collected by sensors disposed on an asset. In one embodiment, the inspection system comprises a camera that is positioned to capture an image of the gauge. The inspection system is further configured to identify a gauge value that is displayed by the gauges and captured in images. The inspection system is still further configured to generate an output signal to a data acquisition device, which uses the output signal to correlate the gauge value with data collected by the sensors.

16. A method for monitoring an asset, said method comprising steps for:

receiving a first signal from an imaging device, the first signal transmitting image data of an image of a gauge; identifying from the image data a gauge value that the gauge displays; applying a scale factor to convert the gauge value from a first value to a second value; and converting the first signal to a second signal compatible with a data acquisition device that monitors one or more sensors disposed on the asset, wherein the second value is compatible with a data acquisition device. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20)
