Abstract

Methods and systems for presentation of content through an interface to provide personalized video feeds to a user. A user'"'"'s interaction with Internet services automatically generates services preferences indicating a media entity. That media entity is correlated to one or more feed items or feeds. A video feed is harvested from feed items or feeds gathered at various Internet services.

Claims

1. A video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet, the video processing system comprising:

service preferences relating to a media entity, wherein the service preferences are accessed from a first Internet service, which is accessible with the Internet;

a service feed that is acquired from a second Internet service, which is accessible from the Internet, wherein;

the service feed comprises a plurality of feed items arranged in the first service feed serially, and

the service feed includes the plurality of feed items that each include a first separately resolvable link to another content item available from the Internet;

an aggregation system that is configured to;

gather the service preferences from the first Internet service, correlate the service preferences to the service feed selected from a plurality of service feeds,

receive the service feed,

remove from the service feed a plurality of non-video feed items that do not link to video content available from the Internet,

a selective video feed comprising some of the plurality of feed items.

The video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet as recited in claim 1, wherein the service preference is one or more of an expressed rating, a content interaction measure, and/or other information gathered from users of the first Internet service.

3. The video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet as recited in claim 1, wherein the selective video feed comprises feed items from a plurality of service feeds correlated to the media entity.

5. The video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet as recited in claim 1, wherein:

the selective video feed is played serially to the user by playing video excerpts serially to the user, and

the video excerpts are only a portion of the corresponding feed item video.

6. The video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet as recited in claim 1, wherein the selective video feed is presented through a web site coupled with the aggregation system.

9. The video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet as recited in claim 1, further comprising:

first credentials for logging into the first Internet service; and

second credentials for logging into the second Internet service.

10. The video processing system for providing personalized video content feeds to users from the Internet as recited in claim 1, wherein the selective video feed is filtered by the aggregation system to exclude one or more possible rendering agents.

27. A method for providing a personalized video content feed from the Internet to users, the method comprising:

recording a first preference related to a user of a first Internet service, wherein the first Internet service is accessible from the Internet;

acquiring a service feed from a second Internet service, wherein;

the second Internet service is accessible from the Internet,

the service feed comprises a first plurality of feed items, and

each feed item in the first plurality of feed items includes a separately resolvable link to another content item available from the Internet;

identifying a second plurality of feed items from the first plurality of feed items, wherein the second plurality of feed items do not link to video content available from the internet;

creating a video feed comprising a third plurality of feed items, wherein;

the third plurality of feed items includes feed items from the first plurality of feed items, but no feed items from the second plurality of feed items,

the third plurality of feed items includes a first feed item;

selecting the first feed item based on the first preference related to the user; and

presenting the personalized video content feed to the user, wherein the personalized video content feed comprises the first feed item.

28. The method for providing a personalized video content feed as recited in claim 27, wherein the personalized video content feed further comprises the video feed.

The method for providing a personalized video content feed as recited in claim 27, wherein the selecting the first feed item includes referencing an index of pre-defined correlations, the index of correlations comprising a list of user interactions with Internet services and correlated feed items.

30. The method for providing a personalized video content feed as recited in claim 27, further comprising providing credentials of the user to the first Internet service or to the second Internet service that allows access to content made available by the first Internet service or the second Internet service.

31. The method for providing a personalized video content feed as recited in claim 27, wherein the recording a first preference related to the user includes receiving data about user interaction with the first Internet service from the first Internet service.

32. The method for providing a personalized video content feed as recited in claim 27, wherein the recording a first preference related to the user includes monitoring a user interaction with the first Internet service.

33. The method for providing a personalized video content feed as recited in claim 32, wherein the monitoring the user interaction is monitoring the user viewing a video linked to a second video feed item, wherein the second video feed item is not identical to the first video feed item.

34. A method for providing personalized video content feeds from the Internet to users, the method comprising:

recording preference information of a user of a first Internet service;

acquiring a plurality of service feeds from a plurality of Internet services, wherein;

the plurality of Internet services are accessible from the Internet,

each service feed of the plurality of service feeds comprise a plurality of feed items, and

each feed item of the plurality of feed items comprise a separately resolvable link to another content item available from the Internet;

removing from the plurality of service feeds, feed items that do not link to video content available on the Internet, creating a plurality of video feeds;

selecting a first video feed from the plurality of video feeds based on the preference information of the user; and

presenting to the user the personalized video content feed, wherein the personalized video content feed comprises the first video feed.

35. The method for providing personalized video content feeds from the Internet to users as recited in claim 34, wherein the selecting a first video feed comprises:

referencing an index of pre-defined correlations between user interactions with Internet services and feed items, and

selecting a first feed item, the first feed item being a feed item in the first video feed, based on the preference information of the user.

36. The method for providing personalized video content feeds from the Internet to users as recited in claim 34, wherein a second Internet service, of the plurality of Internet services requires unique credentials of the user before allowing access to the service feed.

37. The method for providing personalized video content feeds from the Internet to users as recited in claim 34, further comprising:

providing to a third Internet service, of the plurality of Internet services, credentials identifying the user;

receiving from the third Internet service a second video feed;

presenting to the user the personalized video content feed, wherein the personalized video content feed further comprises the second video feed.

38. The method for providing personalized video content feeds from the Internet to users as recited in claim 34, further comprising:

receiving a criterion from the user that relates to feed items that the user would like to include or exclude from the personalized video content feed; and

removing feed items from the personalized video content feed that meet the criterion from the user.

39. The method for providing personalized video content feeds from the Internet to users as recited in claim 34, wherein the personalized video content feed is played serially to the user.
