Abstract

A product cart has a frame and one or more tanks forming compartments each having an opening at the upper end for receiving product. The cart includes a conveyor support having a swing arm with a first end pivotally mounted to the frame for motion generally horizontally between storage and use positions, a shift assembly mounted to a second end of the swing arm, and a mounting bracket assembly coupled to the shift assembly. Finally a conveyor is coupled to the mounting bracket assembly. The swing arm is constructed as a parallel linkage having first and second links which form a four-bar parallel linkage with the frame and with the shift assembly to maintain the shift assembly in a fixed orientation relative to the frame as the swing arm is moved. The shift assembly is operable to move the mounting bracket assembly between lowered and raised positions.

Claims

1. A conveyor support comprising:

a swing arm having a first end adapted to be pivotally mounted to a frame for motion between a storage position and a use position;

a mounting bracket assembly carried by the swing arm at a second end thereof and adapted to be coupled to a conveyor housing;

wherein the swing arm is constructed as a parallel linkage having first and second links which form a four-bar parallel linkage to maintain the mounting bracket assembly in a fixed orientation relative to the frame as the swing arm is moved.

2. The conveyor support of claim 1 wherein the links of the swing arm pivot about generally vertical axes at the first end of the swing arm whereby the swing arm moves horizontally.

3. The conveyor support of claim 1 further comprising a linear actuator to move the swing arm relative to the frame.

4. The conveyor support of claim 1 wherein the linear actuator is connected between the two links of the swing arm.

5. The conveyor support of claim 1 further comprising a shift assembly mounted to the second end of the swing arm with the mounting bracket assembly attached to the shift assembly wherein the shift assembly is operable to move the mounting bracket assembly between lowered and raised positions.

6. The conveyor support of claim 5 wherein the shift assembly is further operable to move the mounting bracket fore and aft when moving the mounting bracket assembly between the lowered and raised positions.

7. The conveyor support of claim 5 wherein the shift assembly includes a parallel linkage pivotal about horizontal axes to maintain the mounting bracket assembly in a fixed relation to a ground surface as the shift assembly is moved from one position to another.

8. The conveyor support of claim 1 wherein the shift assembly is further operable to move the mounting bracket assembly between at least two conveyor use positions.

9. The conveyor support of claim 1 wherein the mounting bracket assembly includes a pivot to rotate a conveyor attached thereto about a generally vertical axis.

10. The conveyor support of claim 1 wherein the mounting bracket assembly further comprises a horizontal pivot connection to a conveyor housing to enable the conveyor housing to be rotated about a horizontal axis to change an inclination of the conveyor housing;

and

further comprising a linear actuator between the mounting bracket assembly and a conveyor housing to control the inclination of the conveyor.

11. A product cart comprising:

a frame;

one or more tanks forming a plurality of compartments each having an opening at the upper end thereof for receiving product into the compartments;

a conveyor support having a swing arm with a first end pivotally mounted to the frame for motion generally horizontally between a storage position and a use position, a mounting bracket assembly carried at a second end of the swing arm and a conveyor coupled to the mounting bracket assembly;

wherein the swing arm is constructed as a parallel linkage having first and second links which forms a four-bar parallel linkage to maintain the mounting bracket assembly in a fixed orientation relative to the frame as the swing arm is moved.

12. The product cart of claim 11 wherein the links of the swing arm pivot about generally vertical axes at the first end of the swing arm whereby the swing arm moves horizontally.

13. The product cart of claim 11 further comprising a linear actuator to move the swing arm relative to the frame.

14. The product cart of claim 11 further comprising a shift assembly mounted to the second end of the swing arm with the mounting bracket assembly attached to the shift assembly wherein the shift assembly is operable to move the mounting bracket assembly between lowered and raised positions.

The product cart of claim 14 wherein the shift assembly includes a parallel linkage to maintain the mounting bracket assembly in a fixed relation to a ground surface as the shift assembly is moved from one position to another and wherein the shift assembly moves the mounting bracket assembly fore and aft of the cart as the shift assembly is moved from one position to another.

16. The product cart of claim 11 wherein the mounting bracket assembly moves in an arc about a generally horizontal axis as the shift assembly moves the mounting bracket assembly between positions.

17. The product cart of claim 11 wherein the shift assembly is further operable to move the mounting bracket between at least two conveyor use positions.

18. The product cart of claim 11 wherein the mounting bracket assembly includes a pivot to rotate a conveyor attached thereto about a generally vertical axis.

19. The product cart of claim 11 wherein the mounting bracket assembly forms a horizontal pivot connection to the conveyor housing to enable the conveyor housing to be rotated about a horizontal axis to change an inclination of the conveyor housing.

20. The product cart of claim 19 further comprising a linear actuator between the mounting bracket assembly and the conveyor housing to control the inclination of the conveyor.
