Abstract

A folder type mobile telephone and control method therefor are provided which utilize an auxiliary display unit viewable whether the folder is opened or closed. The folder type mobile telephone includes an auxiliary display unit and a main body having a main display unit. The folder type mobile telephone includes an opening at a position corresponding to the auxiliary display unit. The folder type mobile telephone may include a wheel button formed at one side of the main body to input user commands to the auxiliary display unit. A transparent window may be formed at the opening to protect the auxiliary display unit. Regardless of whether the folder is opened or closed, a user can view, and control the auxiliary display unit via wheel button inputs. Since the auxiliary display unit is formed on the main body, the relative thickness of the folder can be reduced to make the folder type mobile telephone compact

Claims

1. A mobile phone, comprising:

a main body having a length and a width;

a radio frequency transceiver in the main body configured to establish wireless communication with a network;

a foldable portion movable between a closed position and an open position relative to the main body;

a hinge portion that operatively connects the foldable portion to the main body;

at least one display configured to display at least one of contents and a list of previously displayed contents;

a rotatable button operatively connected to the main body to receive inputs from a user to allow at least one of scrolling through the list and selection of one or more items in the list; and

a keypad configured to receive inputs from the user to allow user interaction with the at least one display, wherein the at least one display comprises a main display and an auxiliary display.

2. The mobile phone of claim 1, wherein the contents are displayed on the main display and the list of previously displayed contents is displayed on the auxiliary display.

3. A mobile phone, comprising:

a main body;

a radio frequency transceiver in the main body configured to establish wireless communication with a network;

at least one display configured to display at least one of an Internet web page and a list of previously displayed web pages;

a first key configured to be rotatable to allow a user to scroll and select a web page among the list of previously displayed web pages via the at least one display;

a keypad configured to allow the user to perform web page searching via the at least one display; and

a memory configured to store information related to the previously displayed web pages, wherein the at least one display comprises a main display and an auxiliary display.

4. The mobile phone of claim 3, wherein the Internet web page is displayed on the main display and the list of previously displayed web pages is displayed on the auxiliary display.

5. A mobile phone, comprising:

a main body;

a radio frequency transceiver in the main body configured to establish wireless communication with a network;

first and second display portions configured to display an Internet web page and a list of previously displayed web pages, respectively;

a first key configured to allow a user to move through and select a web page among the list of previously displayed web pages via the first and second display portions;

a plurality of keys configured to allow the user to perform web page searching via the first and second display portions;

a memory configured to removably store information related to the previously displayed web pages; and

a second key configured to allow a user to return to a previously displayed web page.

6. The mobile phone of claim 5, wherein the first display portion is displayed on a first display and the second display portion is displayed on a second display, which is separate from the first display.

7. The mobile phone of claim 5, wherein the plurality of keys is provided on the main body of the mobile phone and comprises a plurality of depressable keys.

8. The mobile phone of claim 5, wherein the information related to the previously displayed web pages stored in the memory comprises titles of previously displayed web pages.

9. The mobile phone of claim 5, wherein the information related to the previously displayed web pages stored in the memory comprises network addresses of previously displayed web pages.

10. The mobile phone of claim 5, wherein the second key comprises a depressable key provided on the main body.

11. A graphic user interface, comprising:

a first display configuration that shows transmitted contents of one or more messages transmitted by a first terminal to a second terminal and that shows received contents of one or more messages received by the first terminal from the second terminal; and

a second display configuration that shows the transmitted contents and the received contents in a scrolling manner in response to detection of a scroll input from a user of the first terminal, wherein one more items are shown as being selected by the user after the scroll input, from among the transmitted contents, from among the received contents, or from among both the transmitted contents and the received contents.

12. The graphic user interface of claim 11, wherein the selected one or more items are shown as being transmitted by the first terminal to a third terminal.

13. The graphic user interface of claim 12, wherein the first display configuration or the second display configuration shows more recent contents at one end thereof and less recent contents at an opposing end thereof.

14. The graphic user interface of claim 13, wherein the transmitted contents of one or more messages transmitted to the second terminal and the received contents of one or more messages received from the second terminal are part of a chat conversation between users.

15. A method, comprising:

displaying a first set of messages transmitted to a first terminal;

displaying a second set of messages received from the first terminal;

displaying the first set of messages and the second set of messages in a scrolling manner in response to detecting a scroll input from a user; and

detecting user selection of one or more items among the first set of messages and the second set of messages after being displayed in the scrolling manner, wherein the user selection of the one or more items allows transmission to a second terminal while avoiding the one or more items having to be entered via a keypad by the user.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the selected one or more items are displayed as being transmitted to the second terminal.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the displaying of the first set of messages and the second set of messages shows more recent contents at one end thereof and less contents at an opposing end thereof.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the first set of messages transmitted to the first terminal and the second set of messages received from the first terminal are part of a chat conversation between users.
