- a binary web service interface to communicate with nodes operationally connected to the apparatus using a binary web service, the nodes comprising one or more resources, the binary web service interface being configured to receive information from a node whenever a resource of a node changes or whenever a pre-configured event regarding a resource occurs;
an interface for communicating with web applications making use of the resources; and
a component for receiving subscriptions regarding the information received from the nodes and providing the subscribed information.
