Abstract

A user'"'"'s checkout information is stored for a certain amount of time, e.g., 10 minutes, after checkout, and the user is given the option of selecting a button to add one or more items for purchase and completing the purchase by adding the additional item(s) and approving the payment, without having to go through a complete checkout flow again.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a non-transitory storage device storing information about user accounts with a payment provider, wherein the information comprises a token associated with a first transaction between a user and a merchant; and

a processor executing instructions to perform;

receiving a payment request;

receiving login information to an account of a user with a payment provider, wherein the account is used for the payment request;

processing, by the payment provider, the payment request;

notifying the user when the payment request is approved;

providing, the user on a page of a first merchant, a rapid checkout option;

receiving, from the user through the first merchant page, an indication to use the rapid checkout option;

receiving a second payment request; and

processing the second payment request without the need for the user to provide login information.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the token is used for processing the second payment request.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the processing of the second payment request requires no entry by the user of shipping address, billing address, or funding source information.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the processor executes instructions to further perform providing, the user on the first merchant page, a timer that indicates a length of time remaining for the rapid checkout option to be available.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the second payment request is received from a checkout page of the first merchant.

6. The system of claim 1, wherein the second payment request is received from a checkout page of a site of a second merchant.

7. The system of claim 4, wherein the timer resets each time the user selects the rapid checkout option.

8. A method for performing a payment transaction using a user device, comprising:

receiving, by a processor of a payment provider, a payment request;

receiving, electronically by the processor, login information to an account of a user with the payment provider, wherein the account is used for the payment request;

processing, by the processor, the payment request;

notifying, electronically by the processor, the user when the payment request is approved;

providing, the user on a page of a first merchant, a rapid checkout option;

receiving, from the user through the first merchant page, an indication to use the rapid checkout option;

receiving a second payment request; and

processing the second payment request without the need for the user to provide login information.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the token is used for processing the second payment request.

10. The method of claim 8, wherein the processing of the second payment request requires no entry by the user of shipping address, billing address, or funding source information.

11. The method of claim 8, wherein the processor executes instructions to further perform providing, the user on the first merchant page, a timer that indicates a length of time remaining for the rapid checkout option to be available.

12. The method of claim 8, wherein the second payment request is received from a checkout page of the first merchant

13. The method of claim 8, wherein the second payment request is received from a checkout page of a site of a second merchant.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein the timer resets each time the user selects the rapid checkout option.

15. A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising a plurality of machine-readable instructions which when executed by one or more processors of a server are adapted to cause the server to perform a method comprising:

receiving, by a payment provider, a payment request;

receiving login information to an account of a user with the payment provider, wherein the account is used for the payment request;

processing the payment request;

notifying the user when the payment request is approved;

providing, the user on a page of a first merchant, a rapid checkout option;

receiving, from the user through the first merchant page, an indication to use the rapid checkout option;

receiving a second payment request; and

processing the second payment request without the need for the user to provide login information.

16. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15, wherein the token is used for processing the second payment request.

17. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15, wherein the processing of the second payment request requires no entry by the user of shipping address, billing address, or funding source information.

18. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15, wherein the method further comprises providing, the user on the first merchant page, a timer that indicates a length of time remaining for the rapid checkout option to be available.

19. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15, wherein the second payment request is received from a checkout page of the first merchant.

20. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 15, wherein the second payment request is received from a checkout page of a site of a second merchant.

21. The non-transitory machine-readable medium of claim 18, wherein the timer resets each time the user selects the rapid checkout option.
