Abstract
A state machine implemented method for operating a touch-screen input/output device includes determining charge levels from a touch sensor by scan logic. The charge levels from the touch sensor are converted to digital charge data by an analog-to-digital converter. Potential touch events and potential touch event location data is detected from the digital charge data by sensing logic. The potential touch events and potential touch event location data are compared to predetermined limits to determine touch events and locations that satisfy a predetermined level of accuracy by threshold management logic.
