A focus element that visually emphasizes a user interface element is provided on a user interface of an application executing on a client device. Input data transmitted from a remote control device in communication with the client device is received. The input data is detected by a touch-enabled surface of the remote control device. The application causes concurrent movement of the focus element and the user interface element on the user interface based on the input data.
