Abstract

The subject matter disclosed herein relates to systems, methods, apparatuses, devices, articles, and means for updating radio models. For certain example implementations, a method for one or more server devices may comprise receiving at one or more communication interfaces at least one measurement that corresponds to a position of a first mobile device within an indoor environment. At least one radio model that is stored in one or more memories may be updated based, at least in part, on the at least one measurement to produce at least one updated radio model. The at least one radio model and the at least one updated radio model may correspond to the indoor environment. The at least one updated radio model may be transmitted to enable a second mobile device to use the at least one updated radio model for positioning within the indoor environment. Other example implementations are described herein.

Claims

1. A method for providing updated graph information that corresponds to an indoor environment to mobile devices, the method comprising:

receiving an indication of a position of a first mobile device within the indoor environment;

identifying a conflict between the position of the first mobile device and at least one graph associated with graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

updating the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment responsive to the conflict being identified to produce the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment; and

transmitting the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a second mobile device to enable the second mobile device to use the updated graph information for positioning within the indoor environment.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

3. The method of claim 2 wherein the position of the first mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein updating the at least one graph comprises updating the at least one graph to include a node or edge associated with the position of the first mobile device.

4. The method of claim 3 wherein the updating the at least one graph is performed only if a threshold number of positions of mobile devices associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible are received.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein identifying the conflict between the position of the first mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment includes comparing the position of the first mobile device with a previous position of the first mobile device to determine whether the first mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

6. A server for providing updated graph information that corresponds to an indoor environment to mobile devices, the server comprising:

means for receiving an indication of a position of a first mobile device within the indoor environment;

means for identifying a conflict between the position of the first mobile device and at least one graph associated with graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

means for updating the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment responsive to the conflict being identified to produce the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment; and

means for transmitting the updated graph information associated with the indoor environment to a second mobile device to enable the second mobile device to use the updated graph information for positioning within the indoor environment.

7. The server of claim 6 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

8. The server of claim 7 wherein the position of the first mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the means for updating the at least one graph includes means for updating the at least one graph to include a node or edge associated with the position of the first mobile device.

9. The server of claim 8 wherein the means for updating the at least one graph includes means for updating the at least one graph only if a threshold number of positions of mobile devices associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible are received.

10. The server of claim 6 wherein the means for identifying the conflict between the position of the first mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment includes means for comparing the position of the first mobile device with a previous position of the first mobile device to determine whether the first mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

11. An article comprising:

at least one storage medium having stored thereon instructions for providing updated graph information that corresponds to an indoor environment to mobile devices, the instructions being executable by one or more processors to;

receive via one or more communication interfaces an indication of a position of a first mobile device within the indoor environment;

identify a conflict between the position of the first mobile device and at least one graph associated with graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

update the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment responsive to the conflict being identified between the position of the first mobile device with the at least one graph to produce the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment; and

transmit the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a second mobile device to enable the second mobile device to use the updated graph information for positioning within the indoor environment.

12. The article of claim 11 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

13. The article of claim 12 wherein the position of the first mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the instructions to cause the one or more processors to update the at least one graph include instructions to cause the one or more processors to update the at least one graph to include a node or edge associated with the position of the first mobile device.

14. The article of claim 13 wherein the instructions to cause the one or more processors to update the at least one graph include instructions to cause the one or more processors to perform the update of the at least one graph only if a threshold number of positions of mobile devices associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible are received.

15. The article of claim 11 wherein the instructions to cause the one or more processors to identify the conflict between the position of the first mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment include instructions to cause the one or more processors to compare the position of the first mobile device with a previous position of the first mobile device and instructions to cause the one or more processors to determine whether the first mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

16. A server for providing updated graph information that corresponds to an indoor environment to mobile devices, the server comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive data wirelessly;

a memory configured to store processor-executable program code;

one or more processors configured to;

receive via one or more communication interfaces an indication of a position of a first mobile device within the indoor environment;

identify a conflict between the position of the first mobile device and at least one graph associated with graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

update the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment responsive to the conflict being identified to produce the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment; and

transmit the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a second mobile device to enable the second mobile device to use the updated graph information for positioning within the indoor environment.

17. The server of claim 16 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

18. The server of claim 17 wherein the position of the first mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the one or more processors is configured to update the at least one graph to include a node or edge associated with the position of the first mobile device.

19. The server of claim 18 wherein the one or more processors is configured to update the at least one graph only if a threshold number of positions of mobile devices associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible are received.

20. The server of claim 16 wherein the one or more processors being configured to identify the conflict between the position of the first mobile device and the at least one graph that corresponds to the indoor environment is further configured to compare the position of the first mobile device with a previous position of the first mobile device and to determine whether the first mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

21. A method for updating map information associated with an indoor environment at a mobile device, the method comprising:

identifying a conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment;

transmitting an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment to a positioning server;

receiving updated map information associated with the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

performing a positioning operation using the updated map information associated with the indoor environment.

22. The method of claim 21 wherein identifying the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment further comprises detecting that the position of the mobile device is associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible in the map information associated with the indoor environment.

23. The method of claim 21 wherein identifying the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment further comprises determining, based on the map information associated with the indoor environment, that the mobile device has moved through an obstacle identified in the map information.

24. An article comprising:

at least one storage medium having stored thereon instructions for updating map information associated with an indoor environment at a mobile device, the instructions being executable by one or more processors to;

identify a conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment;

transmit an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment to a positioning server;

receive updated map information associated with the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

perform a positioning operation using the updated map information associated with the indoor environment.

25. The article of claim 24 wherein the instructions executable by the one or more processors to identify the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment further comprise instructions executable by the one or more processors to detect that the position of the mobile device is associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible in the map information associated with the indoor environment.

26. The article of claim 24 wherein the instructions executable by the one or more processors to identify the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment further comprise instructions executable by the one or more processors to determine, based on the map information associated with the indoor environment, that the mobile device has moved through an obstacle identified in the map information.

27. A system for updating map information associated with an indoor environment at a mobile device, the method comprising:

means for identifying a conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment;

means for transmitting an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment to a positioning server;

means for receiving updated map information associated with the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

means for performing a positioning operation using the updated map information.

28. The system of claim 27 wherein the means for identifying a conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment comprises means for detecting that the position of the mobile device is associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible in the map information associated with the indoor environment.

29. The system of claim 27 wherein the means for identifying a conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment comprises means for determining, based on the map information associated with the indoor environment, that the mobile device has moved through an obstacle identified in the map information.

30. A mobile device for updating map information associated with an indoor environment at the mobile device, the mobile device comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive data wirelessly;

a memory configured to store processor-executable program code;

one or more processors configured to;

identify a conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment;

transmit an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment to a positioning server;

receive updated map information associated with the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

perform a positioning operation using the updated map information.

31. The mobile device of claim 30 wherein the one or more processors being configured to identify the conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment are further configured to detect that the position of the mobile device is associated with an area of the indoor environment identified as inaccessible in the map information associated with the indoor environment.

32. The mobile device of claim 30 wherein the one or more processors being configured to identify the conflict between a position of the mobile device and the map information associated with the indoor environment are further configured to determine, based on the map information, that the mobile device has moved through an obstacle identified in the map information.

33. A method for updating graph information that corresponds to an indoor environment at a mobile device, the method comprising:

identifying a conflict between a position of the mobile device and at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

transmitting an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a positioning server;

receiving updated graph information associated with the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

performing a positioning operation using the updated graph information associated with the indoor environment.

34. The method of claim 33 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

35. The method of claim 33 wherein the position of the mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the updated graph information includes a node or edge associated with the position of the mobile device.

36. The method of claim 33 wherein identifying the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment comprises comparing the position of the mobile device with a previous position of the mobile device to determine whether the mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

37. An article comprising:

at least one storage medium having stored thereon instructions for updating graph information that corresponds to an indoor environment at a mobile device, the instructions being executable by one or more processors to;

identify a conflict between a position of the mobile device and at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

transmit an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a positioning server;

receive updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

perform a positioning operation using the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment.

38. The article of claim 37 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

39. The article of claim 37 wherein the position of the mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the updated graph information includes a node or edge associated with the position of the mobile device.

40. The article of claim 37 wherein the instructions executable by the one or more processors to identify the conflict between the position of the mobile device and at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment comprise instructions executable by the one or more processors to compare the position of the mobile device with a previous position of the mobile device to determine whether the mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

41. A system for updating graph information associated with an indoor environment at a mobile device, the method comprising:

means for identifying a conflict between a position of the mobile device and at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

means for transmitting an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a positioning server;

means for receiving updated graph information associated with the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

means for performing a positioning operation using the updated graph information associated with the indoor environment.

42. The system of claim 41 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

43. The system of claim 41 wherein the position of the mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the updated graph information includes a node or edge associated with the position of the mobile device.

44. The system of claim 41 wherein the means for identifying the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment comprises means for comparing the position of the mobile device with a previous position of the mobile device to determine whether the mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.

45. A mobile device for updating graph information associated with an indoor environment at the mobile device, the mobile device comprising:

a transceiver configured to transmit and receive data wirelessly;

a memory configured to store processor-executable program code;

one or more processors configured to;

identify a conflict between a position of the mobile device and at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment;

transmit an indication of the conflict between the position of the mobile device and the at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment to a positioning server;

receive updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment from the positioning server; and

perform a positioning operation using the updated graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment.

46. The mobile device of claim 45 wherein the conflict indicates that the at least one graph does not match a physical characteristic associated with the indoor environment.

47. The mobile device of claim 45 wherein the position of the mobile device does not match a position corresponding to a node or edge of the at least one graph, and wherein the updated graph information includes a node or edge associated with the position of the mobile device.

48. The mobile device of claim 45 wherein the one or more processors being configured to identify the conflict between the position of the mobile device and at least one graph associated with the graph information that corresponds to the indoor environment are further configured to compare the position of the mobile device with a previous position of the mobile device to determine whether the mobile device has moved along a path that does not correspond to a traversable path included in the at least one graph.
