Abstract

An apparatus and method is provided that allows users to easily and rapidly search and locate parts of pages in an e-book that they have read, even though the form of pages has changed. The apparatus and method for displaying pages on an electronic mobile device includes: displaying at least one page of a plurality of pages of an e-book; detecting the presence of an event; changing the form of the displayed pages to a form corresponding to the detected event; and displaying the difference between the forms before and after the change.

Claims

1. A method for displaying pages on an electronic mobile device, comprising:

displaying at least one page of a plurality of pages of an e-book;

detecting the presence of an event;

changing a form of the displayed at least on page to a form corresponding to the detected event; and

displaying a difference between the form before the change and the form after the change.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein displaying the difference further comprises:

displaying, if content is added to the displayed at least one page according to the change of the form, the added content and an original content that has been displayed on the page before the change, and

wherein the added content and the original content are differentiated from each other.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein displaying the difference further comprises:

displaying the added content and the original content wherein the added content and the original content are differentiated from each other by displaying different levels of brightness or different colors.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein displaying the difference further comprises:

displaying the added content and the original content, wherein the added content and the original content are differentiated via markers.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein displaying the difference further comprises:

releasing, if a condition for releasing the differentiation between the added content and the original content is satisfied after the form of pages is changed, the differentiation therebetween.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein displaying the difference further comprises:

displaying, if a part of a content in the displayed at least one page is moved to another page according to the change of the form, a preview including the moved content on the displayed at least one page, overlapping the preview thereon.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein displaying the difference further comprises:

displaying, if the preview is selected by the user, a page of the preview.

8. The method of claim 7, further comprising:

displaying the moved content and an original content that has been on the page of the preview before the change of the form, and wherein the moved content and the original content are differentiated from each other.

9. The method of claim 2, wherein:

displaying the difference comprises;

displaying, if an event for turning over at least one page of the plurality of pages after the change of the form occurs, another page of the plurality of pages; and

displaying of another page of the plurality of pages further comprises;

displaying, if part of a content in a displayed page is moved to the another page of the plurality of pages according to the change of the form, the content moved to the other page of the plurality of pages and the original content that has been displayed in the at least one page before the change of the form.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the form comprises one or more:

text size or font size, font, letter spacing, line spacing, style and page direction.

11. A method for displaying pages on an electronic mobile device, comprising:

displaying at least one page of a plurality of pages of an e-book;

detecting an event for decreasing text size of the e-book;

decreasing the text size of the e-book in response to the event;

displaying, if content is added to the displayed at least one page according to the decrease of the text size, the added content and an original content that has been displayed on the page before the decrease of the text size; and

wherein the added content and the original content are differentiated from each other.

12. A method for displaying pages on an electronic mobile device, comprising:

displaying at least one page of a plurality of pages of an e-book;

detecting an event for increasing text size of the e-book;

increasing the text size of the e-book in response to the event; and

displaying, if a part of a content in the displayed at least one page is moved to another page according to the increase of the text size, a preview including the moved content on the displayed at least one page, overlapping the preview thereon.

13. An apparatus for displaying at least one page of a plurality of pages of an e-book on an electronic mobile device, comprising:

an input unit for creating events according to a request of a change of a form;

a controller for changing the form of the plurality of pages to the form corresponding to the event; and

a display unit for displaying the at least one page of the plurality of pages and the difference between the forms before and after the change.

The system of claim 13, wherein the controller detects the event that occurs in the input unit, identifies whether the detected event corresponds to the event for requesting the form of the plurality of pages, changes the form according to the event, and commands the display unit to display the difference between the forms before the change and the form after the change.

The system of claim 14, wherein the display unit displays, if a content is added to the displayed at least one page of the plurality of pages according to the change of the form, the added content and the original content displayed on the at least one page before the change, wherein the added content and the original content are differentiated from each other.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the controller releases, if a condition for releasing the differentiation between the added content and the original content is satisfied after the form of the plurality of pages is changed, the differentiation therebetween.

The system of claim 14, wherein the display unit displays, if a part of a content in the displayed at least one page is moved to another page of the plurality of pages according to the change of the form, a preview including the moved content on the displayed at least one page, overlapping the preview thereon.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the controller controls, if the preview is selected by the user, the display unit to display a page of the preview.

19. The system of claim 14, wherein the display unit displays, if an event for turning over at least one page of a plurality of pages after the change of the form occurs, another page of the plurality of pages;

and displays, if part of a content in the displayed at least one page is moved to the other page according to the change of the form, the content moved to the other page and the original content that has been displayed in the other page of a plurality of pages before the change of form.

20. The system of claim 13, wherein the form comprises one or more:

text size or font size, font, letter spacing, line spacing, style and page direction.

21. A recordable medium, installed in an electronic mobile device, wherein a method for displaying pages of an e-book is implemented, the method comprising:

displaying at least one page of a plurality of pages of an e-book;

detecting the presence of an event;

changing the form of the displayed at least one page of the plurality of pages to a form corresponding to the detected event; and

displaying the difference between the form before the change and the form after the change.

22. The recordable medium of claim 21, further comprising:

storing computer implemented programs including;

an operating system (OS) for booting and controlling the electronic mobile device, and

at least one application program.
