- determining, by an imaging device, an image;
determining a set of faces in the image, wherein each face corresponds with a user of a display;
determining a characteristic profile of the set of faces in the image;
comparing the characteristic profile to targeting criteria associated with a multimedia content item of a plurality of multimedia content items to generate a comparison result; and
selecting a multimedia content item of the plurality of multimedia content items based on the comparison result.

A multimedia content item of a plurality of multimedia content items is selected, based on the comparison result.
