1. A method for reporting neurologic data of a plurality of-neurologic events from an implantable medical device to an external device, comprising:
- obtaining a plurality of data records that include indications of a plurality of neurologic events with the implantable medical device, the data record of each neurologic event including data for each of a plurality of activities occurring during the neurologic event;
respectively assigning a plurality of severity levels to the activities of each neurologic event with the implantable medical device;
determining a priority index for the data record of each neurologic event with the implantable medical device, wherein the determination of the priority index depends upon the plurality of severity levels respectively assigned to the plurality of activities occurring during the neurologic event;
selecting a set of data records from the plurality of data records, the selection based upon the data records of the selected set being higher in the priority index than the other data records of the plurality of data records; and
communicating a set of the selected data records from the implantable medical device to the external device via telemetry.

Abstract
Methods and apparatus for storing data records associated with a medical monitoring event in a data structure. An implanted device obtains data and stores the data in the data record in a first data structure that is age-based. Before an oldest data record is lost, the oldest data record may be stored in a second data structure that is priority index-based. The priority index may be determined by a severity level and may be further determined by associated factors. The implanted device may organize, off-load, report, and/or display a plurality of data records based on an associated priority index. Additionally, the implanted device may select a subset or composite of physiologic channels from the available physiologic channels based on a selection criterion.

11. An implantable apparatus for reporting physiologic data of a plurality of neurologic events to an external component, comprising:

a processing component having logic for assigning severity to a plurality of activities and for assigning priority index for a data record of an event during which the plurality of activities occur, wherein the processing component is configured to; determine the priority index for the data record of each neurologic event with the priority index depending upon the severity level respectively assigned to each of the plurality of activities occurring during the neurologic event, select a set of data records from the plurality of data records for transferring to the external device, the selection based upon the data records of the selected set being higher in the priority index than the other data records of the plurality of data records, and communicate a set of the selected data records from the implantable medical device to the external device via telemetry; sensing circuitry configured to obtain a collection of data records about the plurality of activities occurring during the neurologic events; and a telemetry module configured to communicate the selected data records to the external component via telemetry. - View Dependent Claims (12)
