FINE FIBER MEDIA LAYER
First Claim
Patent Images
1. A filter construction comprising a filter media, the filter media comprising:
- a single filtration substrate layer comprising a cellulosic nonwoven substrate or a synthetic polymer nonwoven substrate, the single filtration substrate layer having a first surface; and
a single fine fiber layer formed on and adhered to the first surface of the filtration substrate layer, the fine fiber layer having a thickness of no greater than 30 microns, the fine fiber layer comprising a random distribution of fibers having a diameter of about 0.05 to 0.5 micron, the fibers comprising a nylon polymer;
wherein the fibers are configured such that after exposure of the filter media to air at 140°
F. and 100% relative humidity for 16 hours at least 50% of the fiber remains substantially unchanged for filtration.
