Abstract

An image forming apparatus includes a first reception unit configured to receive a first type job via a network, a second reception unit configured to receive a second type job generated based on a user'"'"'s operation received by an operation unit of the image forming apparatus, a setting unit configured to set a time at which shutdown processing for turning off the image forming apparatus is to be performed, and a control unit configured to, in a case where there is the first type job when the time set by the setting unit is reached, perform the shutdown processing without executing the first type job, and to, in a case where there is the second type job when the time set by the setting unit is reached, perform the shutdown processing with executing the second type job.

Claims

1. An image forming apparatus comprising:

a first reception unit configured to receive a first type job via a network;

a second reception unit configured to receive a second type job generated based on a user'"'"'s operation received by an operation unit of the image forming apparatus;

a setting unit configured to set a time at which shutdown processing for turning off the image forming apparatus is to be performed; and

a control unit configured to, in a case where there is the first type job received by the first reception unit when the time set by the setting unit is reached, perform the shutdown processing without executing the first type job, and to, in a case where there is the second type job received by the second reception unit when the time set by the setting unit is reached, perform the shutdown processing with executing the second type job.

2. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the control unit, in a case where there is the first type job received by the first reception unit when the time set by the setting unit is reached, cancels the first type job.

3. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the control unit performs the shutdown processing when the predetermined time period has elapsed after the second type job has executed.

4. The image forming apparatus according to claim 2, further comprising a notification unit configured to, in a case where the first type job is canceled, notify a transmission source of the first type job that the first type job is canceled.

5. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein, when the time set by the setting unit is reached, the control unit controls the reception unit so as not to receive the first type job.

6. The image forming apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet,

wherein the first type job received by the first reception unit is a print job for causing the image forming unit to form the image on the sheet.

7. A method for controlling an image forming apparatus configured to receive a first type job via a network and a second type job generated based on a user'"'"'s operation received by an operation unit of the image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

setting a time at which shutdown processing for turning off the image forming apparatus is to be performed;

performing, in a case where there is the received first type job when the set time is reached, the shutdown processing without executing the first type job; and

performing, in a case where there is the second type job received when the set time is reached, the shutdown processing with executing the second type job.

8. The method according to claim 7, further comprising cancelling, in a case where there is the received first type job when the set time is reached, the first type job.

9. The method according to claim 7, wherein, in the performing, the shutdown processing is performed when the predetermined time period has elapsed after the second type job has executed.

10. The method according to claim 7, further comprising, in a case where the first type job is canceled, notifying a transmission source of the first type job that the first type job is canceled.

11. The method according to claim 7, further comprising prohibiting reception of a first type job, when the set time is reached.

12. The method according to claim 7, wherein the received first type job is a print job for causing an image forming unit, which is configured to form an image on a sheet, to form the image on the sheet.

13. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a computer program that causes a computer to execute the method according to claim 7.
