Abstract

A method of handling transmission configuration of a communication device in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method is utilized in the communication device, and comprises determining traffic information of a plurality of packets which are transmitted between the communication device and a network of the wireless communication system according to the transmission configuration; and transmitting the traffic information to the network, for the network to configure the transmission configuration according to the traffic information.

Claims

1. A method of handling transmission configuration of a communication device in a wireless communication system, the method utilized in the communication device and comprising:

determining traffic information of a plurality of packets which are transmitted between the communication device and a network of the wireless communication system according to the transmission configuration; and

transmitting the traffic information to the network, for the network to configure the transmission configuration according to the traffic information.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the plurality of packets are transmitted by at least one of the communication device and the network.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the traffic information comprises timing information, wherein the plurality of packets are transmitted according to the timing information.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the timing information comprises a periodicity and a plurality of timing offsets, and the plurality of packets are transmitted according to the periodicity and the plurality of timing offsets.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the traffic information comprises size information related to sizes of the plurality of packets.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the communication device performs at least one of a truncation and a quantization on the traffic information, before transmitting the traffic information to the network.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the communication device transmits the traffic information to the network by:

transmitting an index corresponding to the traffic information to the network.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the communication device transmits the traffic information to the network by:

processing the traffic information by using a function; and

transmitting an output of the function to the network.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the function is one of a cumulative density function (CDF), a probability density function (PDF), a Fourier analysis, a Fourier transform and a Z-transform.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the transmission configuration comprises a low-power mode configuration of the communication device.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the transmission configuration comprises radio resource allocation of the communication device.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information by:

configuring at least one parameter of the transmission configuration in the network according to the traffic information.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information by:

determining at least one parameter of the transmission configuration according to the traffic information; and

transmitting the at least one parameter to the communication device, to configure the at least one parameter of the transmission configuration in the communication device.

14. The method of claim 1, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information, when the network receives the traffic information.

15. The method of claim 1, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information, when a transition between a busy period and an idle period occurs at the communication device.

16. A communication device in a wireless communication system for handling transmission configuration of the communication device, the communication device comprising:

means for determining traffic information of a plurality of packets which are transmitted between the communication device and a network of the wireless communication system according to the transmission configuration; and

means for transmitting the traffic information to the network, for the network to configure the transmission configuration according to the traffic information.

17. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the plurality of packets are transmitted by at least one of the communication device and the network.

18. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the traffic information comprises timing information, wherein the plurality of packets are transmitted according to the timing information.

19. The communication device of claim 18, wherein the timing information comprises a periodicity and a plurality of timing offsets, and the plurality of packets are transmitted according to the periodicity and the plurality of timing offsets.

20. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the traffic information comprises size information related to sizes of the plurality of packets.

21. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the communication device performs at least one of a truncation and a quantization on the traffic information, before transmitting the traffic information to the network.

22. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the communication device transmits the traffic information to the network by:

transmitting an index corresponding to the traffic information to the network.

23. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the communication device transmits the traffic information to the network by:

processing the traffic information by using a function; and

transmitting an output of the function to the network.

24. The communication device of claim 23, wherein the function is one of a cumulative density function (CDF), a probability density function (PDF), a Fourier analysis, a Fourier transform and a Z-transform.

25. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the transmission configuration comprises a low-power mode configuration of the communication device.

26. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the transmission configuration comprises radio resource allocation of the communication device.

27. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information by:

configuring at least one parameter of the transmission configuration in the network according to the traffic information.

28. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information by:

determining at least one parameter of the transmission configuration according to the traffic information; and

transmitting the at least one parameter to the communication device, to configure the at least one parameter of the transmission configuration in the communication device.

29. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information, when the network receives the traffic information.

30. The communication device of claim 16, wherein the network configures the transmission configuration according to the traffic information, when a transition between a busy period and an idle period occurs at the communication device.
