Abstract

A method and system for enabling a mobile device to interface with a medical device. The embodiments herein relate to patient healthcare monitoring and, more particularly, to use of a mobile device used in patient healthcare monitoring. The embodiments herein disclose a method and system for a mobile device to control or interface with a medical device in a deterministic manner. The mobile application module uses the hardware resources of the mobile device to control or interface with the medical device. This enables the mobile device to fully control or interface with the medical device without any disturbance.

Claims

1. A mobile device comprising at least one means configured for enabling said mobile device to communicate with at least one medical device, on a user of said mobile device providing an input.

2. The mobile device, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mobile device further comprises a means for enabling features on said mobile device.

3. The mobile device, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mobile device further comprises a means for disabling features on said mobile device.

4. The mobile device, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mobile device further comprises a means for avoiding interference from external sources.

5. The mobile device, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mobile device further comprises a means for avoiding interference from features present on said mobile device.

6. The mobile device, as claimed in claim 1, wherein said mobile device further comprises a mode called medical mode, which can be activated using at least one of

a combination of keys present in said mobile device;

a display selection on said mobile device;

a combination of keys present in said mobile device and a display selection on said mobile device;

an option selected during boot up of said mobile device;

or

an option for a medical application present in menu of said mobile device.

7. A medical device comprising at least one means configured for enabling a mobile device to communicate with said medical device.

8. A method for enabling a mobile device to communicate with a medical device, said method comprising of

said mobile device initiating communication with said medical device, on a user of said mobile device providing an input;

said medical device accepting inputs from said mobile device; and

said medical device performing tasks based on said inputs from said mobile device.

9. The method, as claimed in claim 8, said method comprising of said mobile device enabling features on said mobile device.

10. The method, as claimed in claim 8, said method comprising of said mobile device disabling features on said mobile device.

11. The method, as claimed in claim 8, said method comprising of said mobile device avoids interference from external sources.

12. The method, as claimed in claim 8, said method comprising of said mobile device avoids interference from features present on said mobile device.

13. The method, as claimed in claim 8, said method comprising of said mobile device further comprising a mode called medical mode which can be activated using at least one of

a combination of keys present in said mobile device;

a display selection on said mobile device;

a combination of keys present in said mobile device and a display selection on said mobile device;

an option selected during boot up of said mobile device;

or

an option for a medical application present in menu of said mobile device.
