Abstract

A method, which is convenient to subscribe, configure and move mobile telephone software service, focuses on user. It regards all kinds of mobile telephone service software as the carrier of the service. A user'"'"'s mobile telephone stores user description information and service description information related of the mobile telephone in service management platform after installing and starting a mobile telephone service. The user logs on the service management platform through access equipment, and subscribes mobile telephone service modality and all kindsyof function available after identity authorization. The user can configure service parameters through access equipment, downloads the mobile telephone service software or service description information from service management platform, and installs them to user'"'"'s mobile telephone after subscription or configuration operation. The user can log on the service management platform through new mobile telephone when the mobile telephone is updated. All mobile telephone service and service description information used in the original mobile telephone can be moved to the new mobile telephone selectively or as a whole after identity authorization. It is convenient to update, subscribe and configure individualization mobile telephone service software.

Claims

1. A method of facilitating subscription to mobile telephone service software for use in a mobile telephone of a user, the method comprising:

receiving, at a service management platform, a request of a user for subscription to the mobile telephone service software;

processing, at the service management platform, the request of the user, wherein the processing comprises determining service description information related to the mobile telephone service software and the mobile telephone of the user based on the request;

initiating, at the service management platform, a transfer of the mobile telephone service software from a software service provider to the mobile telephone of the user; and

generating and storing, at the service management platform, user description information associated with the mobile telephone of the user.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein initiating the transfer comprises the service management platform providing to the mobile telephone a link for the user to click to download the software service from the software service provider.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising sending a PUSH message including the link for the user to click to download the software service.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the request of the user comprises an activation code associated with service description information.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising transferring a bundle of data associated with the mobile telephone service software to the mobile telephone of the user.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the bundle of data includes an end user license agreement.

7. The method of claim 5, further comprising receiving a request for the transfer of the mobile telephone service software from the software service provider to the mobile telephone of the user.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving notification from the mobile telephone of the user that the software service is installed.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein generating and storing the user description information occurs after receiving the notification.

10. The method of claim 8, further comprising validating the software service.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the request is received from the mobile telephone of the user.

12. A system for facilitating subscription to mobile telephone service software for use in a mobile telephone of a user, the system comprising:

a service management platform in communication with the mobile telephone of the user and further in communication with a software service provider, the service management platform configured to receive a request of a user for subscription to the mobile telephone service software, to process the subscription request, to initiate a transfer of the mobile telephone service software from the software service provider to the mobile telephone of the user, and to generate and store user description information associated with the mobile telephone of the user,

wherein processing the subscription request comprises determining service description information related to the mobile telephone service software and the mobile telephone of the user based on the request.

13. The system of claim 12, further comprising a database to store the service description information and the user description information.
