1. A controller for an implantable medical device having a plurality of electrodes, said implantable device being capable of delivering a therapeutic stimulation to a patient, comprising:

  • a control module;

    a user interface providing control of said control module by a medical professional;

    an electrode interface operatively coupled between said plurality of electrodes and said control module;

    wherein said control module uses said electrode interface to obtain a plurality of measurements of impedance values for a plurality of selected pairs of individual ones of said plurality of electrodes; and

    wherein said user interface displays an indicia, indicative of operability of a group of at least one of said plurality of electrodes, based on a comparison of said plurality of measurements to a predetermined range, said indicia being a qualitative representation of operability of said group of at least one of said plurality of electrodes.
