1. A method for authorizing access to a medical device, the method comprising:
- storing, within a memory of the medical device, a structured testing procedure;
receiving, at an interface of the medical device, the authorization certificate associated with the operation in response to a request received from a user interface device operated by a certificate administrator;
storing data indicative of the identity of the certificate administrator, the medical device, and the structured testing procedure; and
executing program instructions within a processor of the medical device to perform an operation of the structured testing procedure only if the authorization certificate allows the operation to be performed.

14. A system for determining a dosage of a medicament comprising:
