1. A method for determining a feature of the circadian rhythm of a subject, comprising the following steps:
- sampling a first input signal indicating a cardiac function of the subject over a time period T to result in a number of first input signal values x′
n;
sampling at least one second input signal indicating the activity of the subject over a time period overlapping the time period T to result in a number of second input signal values xn;
calculating a number of output signal values yn from the first input signal values x′
n and second input signal values xn according to an autoregressive moving average model (ARMAX) with the first input signal values x′
n and second input signal values xn as exogenous inputs;
deriving a periodic output signal from the calculated number of output signal values yn by harmonic regression analysis;
determining an oscillation parameter as a feature of this periodic output signal.

Abstract
The invention relates to method for determining a feature of the circadian rhythm of the subject, comprising measuring a first input signal indicating a cardiac function of the subject, measuring at least one second input signal indicating the activity of the subject, combining the first input signal and the second input signal to a periodic output signal representing the circadian rhythm of the subject, and determining at least one feature of this periodic output signal.
