1. A method of reducing impedance between a defibrillation electrode and a patient'"'"'s skin, comprising acts of:

  • sending a first activation signal to a first impedance reduction system configured to dispense a first amount of a first electrically conductive gel onto a surface of the defibrillation electrode that is configured to be disposed adjacent the patient'"'"'s skin; and

sending a second activation signal that is distinct from the first activation signal to a second impedance reduction system configured to dispense a second amount of a second electrically conductive gel onto the surface of the defibrillation electrode that is configured to be disposed adjacent the patient'"'"'s skin, the second impedance reduction system being distinct from the first impedance reduction system and independently operable of the first impedance reduction system.
