1. A dialysis machine having a reservoir unit wherein said reservoir unit comprises:
- a. a first housing having an external surface and an internal surface and defining a first volume adapted to hold a fluid therein;
b. a second housing having an external surface and an internal surface and defining a second volume adapted to house the first housing with a space between the external surface of the first housing and the internal surface of the second housing;
c. a heating element positioned within the space between the external surface of the first housing and the internal surface of the second housing; and
d. a first plurality of electrical contacts attached to the external surface of the second housing and electrically coupled to the heating element.

The controller unit includes a door having an interior face, a housing with a panel, where the housing and panel define a recessed region configured to receive the interior face of the door, and a manifold receiver fixedly attached to the panel. The base unit has a reservoir with an internal pan and external pan, separated by a space that holds a heating element. The heating element is electrically coupled to electrical contacts attached to the external surface of the external pan.

18. A pump shoe for a pumping system having flexible tubing wherein said tubing is compressed against said pump shoe by a pump roller during operation, said pump shoe comprising:

a. a contact surface for receiving said tubing, wherein said contact surface has a degree of curvature matching the curvature of said pump roller and imparting a concave shape for receiving said tubing as it is compressed by said pump roller; b. an attachment surface opposite said contact surface for attachment of said pump shoe to said pumping system; and
,c. two side surfaces, opposite one another and perpendicular to said contact and attachment surfaces, wherein the edge of each side surface adjacent said contact surface extends outwardly beyond said contact surface, forming elevated side walls to contain said tubing and adapted to prevent lateral movement of said tubing along said contact surface during operation. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20, 21)
