IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD AND IMAGE PROCESSING UNIT USING THE METHOD
First Claim
1. An image processing unit, including a processor, the image processing unit comprising:
- an image signal processing block configured to receive first image data from a first image sensing unit and second image data from a second image sensing unit and configured to generate a three-dimensional (3D) image; and
an image compensator configured to generate and send a frame rate correction signal to one of the first and second image sensing units if a difference between first timing information and second timing information exceeds a threshold value, wherein the first timing information is frame start information of the first image data corresponding to a first frame output from the first image sensing unit, andthe second timing information is frame start information of the second image data corresponding to the first frame output from the second image sensing unit.

Abstract
An image processing unit includes an image compensator that generates and sends a frame rate correction signal to a first image sensing unit or a second image sensing unit if a difference between first timing information and second timing information exceeds a threshold value. The first timing information is frame start information of the first image data corresponding to a first frame output from the first image sensing unit. The second timing information is frame start information of the second image data corresponding to the first frame output from the second image sensing unit. The image compensator corrects the frame rate of the first or second image sensing unit using timing information stored in first and second registers corresponding to the first and second image sensing units, thereby increasing the quality of a three-dimensional (3D) image.
