1. A method for purchasing a ticket on a mobile communication device, the method comprising:
- providing a hand-held mobile device with a visual display, a first processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a first radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA, and a secure element coupled to the hand-held mobile device having a memory, a processor capable of near field communications and a plurality of communication transceivers each of which supports a different respective communication protocol including at least near field communications;
executing an application on a processor of the mobile communication device to display information corresponding a ticket to be purchased, the information displayed on the display of the mobile communication device;
receiving user input corresponding to a ticket purchase;
sending via the first transceiver, a reservation request for the ticket purchase data to an external system;
executing a payment application on a processor of a secure element in response to a near field communication interaction with a remote point-of-sale terminal for the ticket purchase transaction wherein the point of sale terminal is physically distinct from the mobile communication device;
storing, in a memory of the secure element, the payment application and payment credentials, the execution of the payment application facilitating the transfer of the payment credentials to a remote Point of Sale terminal in response to a near field communication trigger from a remote point-of-sale terminal;
the processor of the secure element, wherein the processor is capable of near field communication, and further wherein the processor executes the payment application stored in the memory,sending, using the a wireless transceiver of the secure element, transaction data including the payment credentials associated with the executed payment application in response to a near field communication trigger by the Point-Of-Sale device through a second communication channel to the remote Point-Of-Sale terminal, the second communication channel being different from the first communication channel through which the mobile communication device communicates voice and data;
wirelessly transmitting the payment credentials to the point-of-sale terminal over the second communication channel; and
receiving an electronic ticket corresponding to the ticket purchased.

The method comprises locating an event of interest to a user through the mobile communication device, displaying a seating map of a venue in which the event of interest is being held, the seating map being displayed on the mobile communication device, receiving user input selecting an available seat on the seating map, issuing an electronic ticket to the user for the seat, and storing the electronic ticket on the mobile communication device.

24. A system for purchasing a ticket on a mobile communication device, the system comprising:

a mobile communication device with a visual display, a first processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a first radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA, a secure element coupled to the mobile communication device; and
an application running on a processor of the mobile communication device which displays information corresponding a ticket to be purchased, receiving user input corresponding to a ticket purchase, sending via the first transceiver, a reservation request for the ticket purchase data to an external system;a processor of the secure element that is capable of near field communications and executes a payment application in response to a near field communication interaction between the mobile communication device and a remote point-of-sale terminal for the ticket purchase wherein the point of sale terminal is physically distinct from the mobile communication device; a memory of the secure element stores the payment application and payment credentials, the execution of the payment application facilitating the transfer of the payment credentials to the Point of Sale Terminal; a wireless transceiver of the secure element that sends transaction data including the payment credentials associated with the executed payment application through a second communication channel to the Point-Of-Sale terminal, the second communication channel being different from the first communication channel through which the mobile communication device communicates voice and data, and the mobile communication device receives a digital artifact corresponding to the ticket purchased.

25. A method for purchasing a ticket using near field communication between a secure element coupled to a hand-held mobile communication device and a Point-of-Sale terminal, the method comprising:

providing a hand-held mobile communication device having a visual display, a first processor that executes a mobile application, and a first radio transceiver which supports voice and data interactions over a first communication channel using at least one of GSM and CDMA; utilizing the secure element coupled to the hand-held mobile communication device, the secure element including; a memory storing a ticket application and payment credentials, a second processor that executes a ticket application stored on the memory in response to a near field communication interaction between the secure element and a remote Point-of-Sale terminal, a near field communication transceiver that sends transaction data including ticket associated with the executed ticket application through a second communication channel, the second communication channel different from the first communication channel; executing, by the second processor of the secure element that is activated by a near field communication interaction between the secure element and a Point-Of-Sale terminal, the ticket application executed in response to a near field communication interaction between the secure element and a Point-Of-Sale terminal using the near field communication transceiver of the secure element; wirelessly transmitting the transaction data which includes payment credentials corresponding associated with the executed ticket application from the secure element to the remote Point-Of-Sale terminal over the second communication channel;
wherein transmission of the transaction data results from executing the ticket application on the processor of the secure element is in response to a near field communication interaction between the secure element and the Point-Of-Sale terminal.

26. A hand-held mobile device for purchasing a ticket using near field communication transaction with a point-of-sale terminal physically distinct from the hand-held mobile device, the hand-held mobile device comprising:

a first processor that executes a mobile application; a secure element coupled to the hand-held mobile device, the secure element comprising; a memory storing a ticket application and a ticket, the execution of the ticket application facilitating the transfer of the transaction data including payment credentials from the secure element to the Point-Of-Sale terminal; a second processor, activated by a near field communication interaction between the secure element and a Point-Of-Sale terminal, that executes-the ticket application in response to a near field communication interaction between the secure element and a Point-Of-Sale terminal; and a near field communication transceiver that sends transaction data including the payment credentials associated with the executed ticket application through a second communication channel from the secure element to the Point-Of-Sale terminal.
