1. A method for purchasing a ticket on a mobile communication device, the method comprising:

  • providing a hand-held mobile device with a visual display, a first processor, a first communication channel which supports voice and data interactions at a first radio transceiver at the hand-held mobile device using at least one of GSM and CDMA, and a secure element coupled to the hand-held mobile device having a memory, a processor capable of near field communications and a plurality of communication transceivers each of which supports a different respective communication protocol including at least near field communications;

    executing an application on a processor of the mobile communication device to display information corresponding a ticket to be purchased, the information displayed on the display of the mobile communication device;

    receiving user input corresponding to a ticket purchase;

    sending via the first transceiver, a reservation request for the ticket purchase data to an external system;

    executing a payment application on a processor of a secure element in response to a near field communication interaction with a remote point-of-sale terminal for the ticket purchase transaction wherein the point of sale terminal is physically distinct from the mobile communication device;

    storing, in a memory of the secure element, the payment application and payment credentials, the execution of the payment application facilitating the transfer of the payment credentials to a remote Point of Sale terminal in response to a near field communication trigger from a remote point-of-sale terminal;

    the processor of the secure element, wherein the processor is capable of near field communication, and further wherein the processor executes the payment application stored in the memory,sending, using the a wireless transceiver of the secure element, transaction data including the payment credentials associated with the executed payment application in response to a near field communication trigger by the Point-Of-Sale device through a second communication channel to the remote Point-Of-Sale terminal, the second communication channel being different from the first communication channel through which the mobile communication device communicates voice and data;

    wirelessly transmitting the payment credentials to the point-of-sale terminal over the second communication channel; and

    receiving an electronic ticket corresponding to the ticket purchased.
