Abstract

Systems and methods for second chance games are disclosed. According to one particular embodiment, a computer-implemented method may comprise: receiving information of a first chance game established on a first medium, wherein a play of the first chance game provides an access mechanism for a second chance game; establishing the second chance game on a second medium based at least in part on the information of the first chance game; predetermining, by at least one processor, an outcome of the second chance game by a associating predetermined results with a plurality of game sessions; receiving from a player a request to access the second chance game submitted based on the access mechanism; assigning to the player one of the plurality of game sessions having a predetermined result; and facilitating the player'"'"'s play of the second chance game to reveal to the player the predetermined result of the assigned game session.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method for a second chance game, the method comprising:

receiving information of a first chance game established on a first medium, wherein a play of the first chance game provides an access mechanism for a second chance game;

establishing the second chance game on a second medium based at least in part on the information of the first chance game;

predetermining, by at least one processor, an outcome of the second chance game by associating predetermined results with a plurality of game sessions, wherein the predetermined results are not correlated with identification of the first medium;

receiving from a player a request to access the second chance game submitted based on the access mechanism;

assigning to the player one of the plurality of game sessions having a predetermined result; and

facilitating the player'"'"'s play of the second chance game to reveal to the player the predetermined result of the assigned game session.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the first chance game comprises an instant lottery game and the first medium is a scratch ticket.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 2, wherein the access mechanism comprises an alphanumerical code or a computer-readable symbol on the scratch ticket.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the second chance game comprises a computer-based game.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 4, wherein the second chance game comprises a map-based lottery-style game with a gameboard based on a map of a geographical area comprising a plurality of grid units wherein each grid unit corresponds to a geographic location in the mapped geographical area.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 4, wherein the second chance game comprises a map-based prize discovery game comprising at least one object in hidden association with one or more grid units on a map, wherein the player wins a prize based on a selection of at least one of the one or more grid units associated with the at least one hidden object.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the outcome of the second chance game is independent of an outcome of the first chance game, the outcome of the first chance game being predetermined on the first medium.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the access mechanism provides access to the second chance game based on a result of the player'"'"'s play of the first chance game.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 8, wherein the access mechanism provides access to the second chance game only if the result of the player'"'"'s play of the first chance game is a loss.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the access mechanism provides access to the second chance game regardless of a result of the player'"'"'s play of the first chance game.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the access mechanism is hidden in the first medium of the first chance game.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

arranging, by at least one processor, the plurality of game sessions according to a predetermined sequence;

determining, upon receiving from the player the request to access the second chance game, a next available game session; and

assigning to the player the next available game session.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising determining a result of the second chance game based on at least one of:

player game history;

player attribute;

first chance game attribute; and

first chance game result.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising generating the second chance game based on the first chance game.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, further comprising:

assigning a second player a second game session having a second predetermined result; and

revealing the second predetermined result of the second chance game to the second player.

16. The computer-implemented method of claim 1, wherein the assigning of said one of the plurality of game sessions is based on at least one of:

access time period;

access order or sequence;

first chance game attributes;

player attribute; and

first chance game result.

17. A system for implementing a second chance game, the system comprising at least one processor, at least one storage medium, and at least one communication interface that are configured to perform the following:

receiving information of a first chance game established on a first medium, wherein a play of the first chance game provides an access mechanism for a second chance game;

establishing the second chance game on a second medium based at least in part on the information of the first chance game;

predetermining an outcome of the second chance game by associating predetermined results with a plurality of game sessions, wherein the predetermined results are not correlated with identification of the first medium;

receiving from a player a request to access the second chance game submitted based on the access mechanism;

assigning to the player one of the plurality of game sessions having a predetermined result; and

facilitating the player'"'"'s play of the second chance game to reveal to the player the predetermined result of the assigned game session.

18. A non-transitory computer readable medium having code for instructing at least one processor to implement a second chance game, the code comprising instructions for the at least one processor to perform the following:

receiving information of a first chance game established on a first medium, wherein a play of the first chance game provides an access mechanism for a second chance game;

establishing the second chance game on a second medium based at least in part on the information of the first chance game;

predetermining an outcome of the second chance game by associating predetermined results with a plurality of game sessions, wherein the predetermined results are not correlated with identification of the first medium;

receiving from a player a request to access the second chance game submitted based on the access mechanism;

assigning to the player one of the plurality of game sessions having a predetermined result; and

facilitating the player'"'"'s play of the second chance game to reveal to the player the predetermined result of the assigned game session.
