1. A method of performing hemostasis on a puncture site on a patient, comprising:
- positioning a visual pulse indicator relative to the puncture site of the patient;
viewing an indication from the visual pulse indicator, wherein the indication is associated with a blood flow attribute relating to the patient; and
selectively adjusting a pressure magnitude over the puncture site, wherein the selective adjustment is influenced by the blood flow attribute indicated by the visual pulse indicator.

Abstract
The apparatus and method for hemostasis that informs the provider as to whether the appropriate magnitude of pressure is being applied to a puncture site on a patient. A visual pulse indicator can visually convey whether or not there is proper blood flow at the puncture site based on the pulsing motion encountered by the visual pulse indicator on the puncture site. The visual pulse indicator can potentially factor in a variety of different input parameters in displaying information that is useful to providers.

17. An apparatus for use over a puncture site for a patient during hemostasis, comprising:
-
a visual pulse indicator that provides for the display of a blood flow attribute relating to the puncture site; a body component, wherein said visual pulse indicator is attached to said body component; and a balloon, wherein said balloon is attached to said body component, wherein the inflation of said balloon provides for increasing the pressure on the puncture site, wherein the hemostasis is performed as part of a transradial catheterization on the arm of the patient. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
