forming a thin film transistor on a substrate; forming a pixel electrode on the thin film transistor; forming a sacrificial layer on the pixel electrode; forming a support layer on the sacrificial layer; forming a microcavity comprising a liquid crystal injection hole by removing the sacrificial layer; injecting a liquid crystal material into the microcavity; forming a coating layer on the support layer so as to cover the liquid crystal injection hole; and forming a color filter comprising quantum dot particles for converting light supplied from a light source. - View Dependent Claims (19, 20)

a backlight unit; a color filter; and a liquid crystal layer formed in a microcavity located between the backlight unit and the color filter; wherein the color filter comprises quantum dot particles configured to refract and disperse light from the backlight unit; and wherein a distance between the color filter and the liquid crystal layer is sized to minimize display deterioration due to parallax.
