79. A method of detecting at least two analytes of different analyte types from a small-volume biological sample within a short period of time, said method comprising:
-
Placing a biological sample in a reader assembly, wherein said reader assembly comprises a) a fluid transfer device, and b) a detection assembly configured to detect signals indicative of the presence of, or absence of, analytes of at least two different analyte types; Transferring a portion of said biological sample within a pipette tip effective to divide said biological sample into a first portion and a second portion at an initial time; Detecting a signal indicative of the presence of, or absence of, a first analyte of a first analyte type in said first portion of the biological sample by a first time; and Detecting a signal indicative of the presence of, or absence of, a second analyte of a second analyte type in said second portion of the biological sample by a second time; Wherein the period of time between said initial time and the later of said first time and of said second time comprises a short period of time; Whereby analytes of at least two different analyte types are detected from a small-volume biological sample within a short period of time. - View Dependent Claims (80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92)

93. A system for detecting at least two analytes of different analyte types in a small-volume biological sample within a short period of time, said system comprising:
-
A fluid transfer device, wherein said fluid transfer device is a) configured to transfer at least a portion of a small-volume biological sample within a pipette tip effective to divide said biological sample into at least a first portion and a second portion at an initial time, and b) configured to mix a portion of said biological sample with a reagent; and A reader assembly comprising a detector assembly configured to detect a signal indicative of the presence of, or absence of, a first analyte of a first analyte type in the biological sample by a first time, and to detect a signal indicative of the presence of, or absence of, a second analyte of a second analyte type in the biological sample by a second time; Wherein the time between said initial time and the later of said first time and of said second time comprises no more than a short period of time, Whereby said system is configured to detect both a first analyte of a first analyte type and a second analyte of a second analyte type from said small-volume biological sample within a short period of time. - View Dependent Claims (94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108)
