An electrical conductor for the transmission of electrical power, where said conductor has a total cross section equal to or more than 10 mm2 and comprises a plurality of stranded filamentary members wherein at least one of said filamentary members is made from unannealed microalloyed copper, with a minimum copper content of 98 wt %, or from unannealed microalloyed aluminum, with a minimum aluminum content of 90 wt %, and has its side surface totally coated with a fluorinated polymer.
