Abstract

A keyless entry device includes a user interface configured to receive an input from a user of the device; a haptic output device configured to generate a haptic effect to the user; and a processor configured to receive a command based on the input from the user through the user interface, to communicate the command to another entity, to receive information from the another entity, and to output a control signal to a drive circuit coupled to the haptic output device to cause the haptic output device to generate the haptic effect to the user based on the information received from the another entity.

Claims

1. A keyless entry device comprising:

a user interface configured to receive an input from a user of the device;

a haptic output device configured to generate a haptic effect to the user; and

a processor configured to receive a command based on the input from the user through the user interface, to communicate the command to another entity, to receive information from the another entity, and to output a control signal to a drive circuit coupled to the haptic output device to cause the haptic output device to generate the haptic effect to the user based on the information received from the another entity.

2. The keyless entry device according to claim 1, wherein the keyless entry device comprises a cellular communication device.

3. The keyless entry device according to claim 2, wherein the cellular communication device comprises a cellular telephone.

4. The keyless entry device according to claim 1, wherein the user interface comprises a touch screen.

5. The keyless entry device according to claim 1, wherein the user interface is further configured to generate an output to the user.

6. The keyless entry device according to claim 5, wherein the user interface comprises a touch screen and the output to the user comprises a visual effect displayed on the touch screen.

7. The keyless entry device according to claim 6, wherein the visual effect comprises text.

8. The keyless entry device according to claim 5, wherein the user interface comprises an audio speaker and wherein the output to the user comprises an audio effect.

9. The keyless entry device according to claim 1, wherein the processor is configured to establish a communication channel with the another entity.
