Abstract

Information is provided a user of a mobile device. Media content is sensed by the mobile device and sent to an information processing server. The information processing server also obtains media content from another source and associates at least a portion of the obtained media content with a product or service offer. The sensed media content is correlated to the obtained media content such that an associated buy or service offer is selected. The buy or service offer is sent to the mobile device for display to the user.

Claims

1. A mobile computing apparatus for recognizing and interacting with video content displayed on a remotely located display apparatus, the mobile computing apparatus comprising:

a camera configured to acquire video of at least video content;

at least one user input device configured to receive input from a user of the mobile computing apparatus;

an integrated display device;

a transceiver configured to communicate with a remote computing apparatus; and

a processing system that includes at least one processor, the processing system configured to;

determine whether portions of the acquired video include and/or do not include video content displayed on the remotely located display device;

output, to the integrated display device, a modified video stream that is based on the determination and the acquired video;

output, to the integrated display device, a visual indication that at least one object within modified video stream is selectable;

select the at least one object based on the received input;

receive further input from the user to perform at least one dynamic content action based on the selected at least one object;

transmit to the remote computing apparatus, via the transceiver, a request, which is based on the received further input,;

receive a dynamic informational content from the remote computing in response to the transmitted request; and

output, to the integrated display device, the dynamic informational content.

2. The mobile computing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the dynamic informational content includes a plurality of products and/or services that are purchasable by the user, wherein the processing system is further configured to:

receive, via at least one user input device, a selection of at least one of the products and/or services;

transmit, via the transceiver, the selection to the remote computing apparatus; and

receive an acknowledgement response from the remote computing apparatus that the purchase has been completed.
