Abstract

A system for converting formatting of display object, including a logic (e.g., a computing device) that can be operable to traverse and record a part of source code or binary data related to a first visible item displayed on a visual output device. The logic can then convert a first data type or data structure that includes the recorded part of source code or binary data to a second data type or data structure that still includes the recorded part of source code or binary data, where the second data type or data structure is related to a second visible item displayable on the visual output device.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

traversing a part of source code or binary data related to a first visible item displayed on a visual output device;

recording the part of source code or binary data related to the first visible item displayed on the visual output device; and

converting a first data type or data structure that includes the recorded part of source code or binary data to a second data type or data structure that still includes the recorded part of source code or binary data, where the second data type or data structure is related to a second visible item displayable on the visual output device.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising rendering the second visible item for display on the visual output device.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the second visible item comprises interactivity, appearance, and position similar to the first visible item.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the part of source code or binary data is at least part of source code or binary data of a webpage, respectively.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first visible item is at least part of a webpage.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the second visible item is at least part of a webpage.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the first data type or data structure is compatible with a first computer program.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the first computer program is a web browser.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the second data type or data structure is compatible with a second computer program.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the second computer program is a Flash Player.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein the recorded part of source code or binary data comprises HTML.

12. A method for generating an image of at least part of a webpage, where the image comprises a similar interactivity and a similar appearance as the at least part of a webpage, the method comprising:

traversing a part of source code or binary data related to the least part of a webpage;

recording the part of source code or binary data related to the least part of a webpage; and

converting a first data type or data structure, which includes the recorded part of source code or binary data related to the least part of a webpage, to a second data type or data structure that still includes the recorded part of source code or binary data related to the least part of a webpage, where the second data type or data structure is related to the image.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising rendering the image for display on a visual output device.

14. The method of claim 13, wherein the image comprises interactivity, appearance, and position similar to the at least part of a webpage.

15. The method of claim 12, wherein the first data type or data structure is formatted for a web browser, and wherein the second data type or data structure is formatted for a Flash Player.

16. A system comprising at least one computing device operable to:

traverse a part of source code or binary data related to a first visible item displayed on a visual output device;

record the part of source code or binary data related to the first visible item displayed on the visual output device; and

convert a first data type or data structure that includes the recorded part of source code or binary data to a second data type or data structure that still includes the recorded part of source code or binary data, where the second data type or data structure is related to a second visible item displayable on the visual output device.

17. The system of claim 16, where the at least one computing device is further operable to render the second visible item for display on the visual output device.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the second visible item comprises interactivity, appearance, and position similar to the first visible item.

19. The system of claim 16, wherein the first visible item and the second visible item are at least part of a website.

20. The system of claim 16, wherein the first data type or data structure is formatted for a web browser, and wherein the second data type or data structure is formatted for a Flash Player.
