Abstract

An apparatus with a method, and or application, and or service to collect more fine rained or extra event data, that may not be accessible directly by the underlying architecture. This is been done by adding a virtual overlay over selected portion of the screen and detecting events inside or outside of his own context.

Claims

1. A method that captures events at a higher resolution, which may not be accessible directly by the underlying architecture said method overlaying at least one of the following:

a. a transparent graphic window layer on top of the Graphic User Interface (GUI) to capture events for underlying widgets, applications or other system resources and filter the events to match against information provided by the operating system, thus providing necessary accuracy for applications, services or the system,

b. a non transparent graphic window layer on top of the Graphic User Interface (GUI) to capture events for underlying widgets, applications or other system resources and filter the events to match against information provided by the operating system, thus providing necessary accuracy for the applications, services or the system.

2. The method of claim 1 where said graphic window layer allows a collection of times for both touch and release of soft buttons of a touch screen.

3. The method of claim 1 where said graphic window layer is overlayed below of the selected portion of the screen.

4. The method of claim 1 where said graphic window layer is catching events outside of its own context.

5. The method of claim 1 where said graphic window layer is catching events inside of its own context.

6. The method of claim 1 where a background process is added to catch events from running applications and providing said events to other applications and services.

7. The method of claim 1 where said background process making events at a higher resolution available to other applications and services.
