1. An article of manufacture comprising a storage medium having instructions stored thereon that, if executed, result in:
- transmitting a conventional physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) in a first region of a physical downlink control channel structure utilized by a remote radio head that has been assigned a cell identifier that is common to one or more other remote radio heads, or base station, or combinations thereof, within the cell; and
transmitting an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH) in a second region of the physical downlink control channel structure.
