Abstract

A method to manage a file is provided herein. The method includes use of a management service that receives the file from a peripheral device. The management service determines at least one file destination associated with a web-based service for the file. The management service transmits the file to at least one file destination with an application programming interface associated with the web-based service and an authorization stored on the management service.

Claims

1. A method to manage a file useable with a management service, the method comprising:

receiving with the management service the file from a web-connected peripheral device;

determining with the management service at least one file destination associated with a web-based service for the file, the management service including an application programming interface associated with the web-based service and an instruction associated with the file; and

transmitting with the application programming interface the file to the at least one file destination using an authorization stored on the management service.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein transmitting with the management service further comprises transmitting the file to a plurality of distinct file destinations.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving the instruction associated with the file from the user via the web-connected peripheral device.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving the instruction from an account setting associated with the management service.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising connecting the management service to a plurality of web-based services, each of the web-based services having an application programming interface associated therewith.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving the file via a management application on the peripheral device.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving the authorization via a website associated with the management service.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising providing a notification of a transmission of the file to the at least one file destination.

9. A system to manage a file using a management service, the system comprising:

a peripheral device connected to the management service to transmit the file to the management service; and

a management device associated with the management service, the management device including at least one application programming interface associated with a web-based service, the management device to;

receive the file from the peripheral device;

determine at least one file destination associated with the web-based service;

transmit the file, with the application programming interface, to the at least one file destination using an authorization stored on the management service.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the management device stores at least one of an account;

a log-in for the web-based service, an account setting, and the at least one application programming interface for the web-based service.

11. The system of claim 9, further comprising a user interface associated with the peripheral device to receive the instruction from a user.

12. The system of claim 9, wherein the peripheral device comprises a scanning device.

13. The system of claim 9, wherein the management device comprises a server.

14. The system of claim 9, wherein the management device provides a notification relating to a transmission of the file to the at least one file destination.

15. The system of claim 9, further comprising a data store to store at least one of the file and the at least one application programming interface.

16. An apparatus useable with a management service, the apparatus comprising:

a management device to receive a file from a peripheral device;

a memory to store a set of instructions; and

a processor coupled to the memory to execute the set of instructions to;

receive the file from the peripheral device;

determine at least one file destination associated with a web-based service; and

transmit the file, with an application programming interface associated with the web-based service, to the at least one file destination using an authorization stored on the management service.

17. The apparatus of claim 16 further comprising an account engine to manage a user account.

18. The apparatus of claim 16, further comprising a notification engine to provide a notification of a transmission of the file to the at least one file destination.

19. The apparatus of claim 16, further comprising an authorization engine to authorize a transmission of the file.

20. The apparatus of claim 16, further comprising a web-based services engine to manage the web-based services associated with the management engine.
