Abstract

A system that enables the customer to keep applications that have been consumed or expired or representations of them and yet to delete the applications from the memory element of his/her NFC mobile communication device.

Claims

1. A system for providing contactless services to mobile communication devices comprising:

an NFC equipped mobile communication device;

a Mobile Network Operator providing Over The Air transport services; and

a Service Provider adapted to provide NFC applications and to initiate installing of the NFC applications in the NFC equipped mobile communication device via the Over The Air transport services of the Mobile Network Operator, wherein the Service Provider is further adapted to receive an application retrieval request from the NFC equipped mobile communication device and to process the retrieval request by retrieving the NFC application from a data base, formatting a representation of the NFC application according to the retrieval request and transmitting the formatted representation of the NFC application to a customer via a communication channel.

2. The system of claim 1 wherein the NFC equipped mobile communication device is a mobile phone.

3. The system of claim 1 wherein the NFC equipped mobile communication device comprises a Service Manager configured to manage the NFC applications.

4. The system of claim 1 wherein the NFC equipped mobile communication device comprises a secure element to store the NFC applications.

5. The system of claim 1 wherein the communication channel is selected form the group consisting of e-mail, download from a remote server and mail transport.

6. The system of claim 1 wherein the formatted representation is a human readable format.

7. The system of claim 4 wherein the secure element is a smart card.

8. The system of claim 4 further comprising a collector memory separate from the secure element.

9. The system of claim 1 wherein the NFC equipped mobile communication device comprises an arithmetic-logic unit.

10. The system of claim 8 wherein the NFC equipped mobile communication device comprises a Service Manager configured to store a representation of an expired or consumed NFC application in or on the collector memory and to delete the expired or consumed NFC application from the secure memory element.
