Abstract

An apparatus and a method for retransmitting data in a wireless communication system using channel bonding are provided. The method for retransmitting data includes transmitting data by mapping the data to at least two channels according to the channel bonding, and retransmitting the data by changing a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels.

Claims

1. A method for retransmitting data in a wireless communication system using channel bonding, the method comprising:

transmitting data by mapping the data to at least two channels according to the channel bonding; and

retransmitting the data by changing, a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least two channels comprise at least two channels of which service coverage does not overlap with each other, among a plurality of channels in a whole service coverage of the wireless communication system.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the retransmitting of the data comprises:

when the data is transmitted by mapping first data to a first channel and second data to a second channel, retransmitting the data by mapping the first data to the second channel and the second data to the first channel.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the retransmitting of the data comprises:

when a receiving stage requests the data retransmission, checking status of the at least two channels;

determining whether to change the channel for the data retransmission by considering the status of the at least two channels; and

when determining to change the channel, retransmitting the data by changing a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the channel status comprises at least one of a channel load and a Carrier to Interference and Noise Ratio (CINR).

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

when determining not to change the channel for the data retransmission, retransmitting the data using the same mapping scheme as a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels for the data transmission.

7. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

when determining to change the channel for the data retransmission, transmitting channel change information for the data retransmission, to the receiving stage.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the transmitting of the channel change information to the receiving stage comprises:

transmitting the channel change information to the receiving stage by adding the channel change information to a header of the retransmitted data.

9. The method of claim 7, wherein the transmitting of the channel change information to the receiving stage comprises:

transmitting the channel change information for the data retransmission to the receiving stage using a control message.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein transmitting of the channel change information to the receiving stage comprises:

encoding and converting the data and the control message to an RF signal; and

transmitting the RF signal to the receiving stage via a transmit antenna.

11. A wireless device comprising:

a controller configured to transmit data by mapping the data to at least two channels according to a channel bonding, and to retransmit the data by changing a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels; and

a transmitter configured to transmit or retransmit the data under control of the controller.

12. The wireless device of claim 11, wherein the at least two channels comprises at least two channels of which service coverage does not overlap with each other, among a plurality of channel in a whole service coverage of a wireless communication system.

13. The wireless device of claim 11, wherein, when the data is transmitted by mapping first data to a first channel and second data to a second channel under the control of the controller, the transmitter is configured to retransmit the data by mapping the first data to the second channel and the second data to the first channel.

14. The wireless device of claim 11, further comprising:

a channel estimator configured to check status of the at least two channels used to transmit the data,

wherein the controller is configured to determine whether to change the channel for the data retransmission by considering the status of the at least two channels, and when determining to change the channel, to retransmit the data by changing a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels.

15. The wireless device of claim 14, wherein the channel status comprises at least one of a channel load and a Carrier to Interference and Noise Ratio (CINR).

16. The wireless device of claim 14, wherein, when determining not to change the channel for the data retransmission, the controller is configured to retransmit the data using the same mapping scheme as a mapping scheme of the data to the at least two channels for the data transmission.

17. The wireless device of claim 14, wherein, when determining to change the channel for the data retransmission, the controller is configured to transmit channel change information for the data retransmission, to the receiving stage.

18. The wireless device of claim 17, wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit the channel change information to the receiving stage by adding the channel change information to a header of the retransmitted data under the control of the controller.

19. The wireless device of claim 17, wherein the transmitter is configured to transmit the channel change information for the retransmission to the receiving stage using, a control message under the control of the controller.

20. The wireless device of claim 19, wherein the transmitter is configured to:

encode and convert the data and the control message to an RF signal; and

send the RF signal via a transmit antenna.
