Abstract

The electrode active material includes a carbon material having a volume of macropores with 50 to 400 nm pore diameters of 0.05 to 0.40 cc/g. The carbon material may be a composite carbon material that contains a carbon material forming a core, and a coating carbon material covering at least part of the core-forming carbon material.

Claims

1. An electrode active material comprising a carbon material having a volume of macropores with 50 to 400 nm pore diameters of 0.05 to 0.40 cc/g.

2. The electrode active material according to claim 1, wherein the carbon material is a composite carbon material that contains a carbon material forming a core, and a coating carbon material covering at least part of the core-forming carbon material.

3. The electrode active material according to claim 2, wherein the coating carbon material includes a carbon black.

4. The electrode active material according to claim 1, which comprises a carbon material having a 50% volume cumulative diameter D50 of 1.0 to 10.0 μ

m.

5. An electrode comprising the electrode active material described in claim 1.

6. An electrical storage device comprising the electrode described in claim 5 as a negative electrode.

7. A lithium ion capacitor comprising the electrode described in claim 5 as a negative electrode.

8. A lithium ion secondary battery comprising the electrode described in claim 5 as a negative electrode.
