Abstract

A method and apparatus for creating one or more groups of electric vehicle charging objects includes receiving input from an organization to group a selected set of electric vehicle charging objects, creating the group in response to the received input, where the created group includes as its members the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects, and performing a set of acts for the members of the group as a whole.

Claims

1. A method for creating one or more groups of electric vehicle charging objects, comprising:

receiving input from an organization to group a selected set of electric vehicle charging objects;

creating the group in response to the received input, wherein the created group includes as its members the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects; and

performing a set of one or more acts for the members of the group.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving input from the organization that indicates the purpose of the group.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle charging station objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle charging stations respectively.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of administrator objects that represent a plurality of administrators respectively.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle operator objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle operators respectively.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicles respectively.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein performing the set of acts for the members of the group includes performing the following:

receiving input from the organization to grant a set of one or more rights over the group to a different organization; and

granting the set of rights to the different organization.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein the set of rights is selected from the group consisting of network management rights, station management rights, station partner rights, installation rights, energy management rights, detailed usage analysis rights, and summary usage analysis rights.

9. A method in a server of an electric vehicle charging service network, comprising:

receiving input from a first organization to grant a set of one or more rights over a set of one or more groups of a plurality of electric vehicle charging objects to a second organization, wherein the first and second organizations are each entities that are associated with the electric vehicle charging service network; and

granting the set of rights to the second organization.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the set of rights is selected from the group consisting of network management rights, station management rights, station partner rights, installation rights, energy management rights, detailed usage analysis rights, and summary usage analysis rights.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle charging station objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle charging stations respectively.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of administrator objects that represent a plurality of administrators respectively.

13. The method of claim 9, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle operator objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle operators respectively.

14. The method of claim 9, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicles respectively.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that provides instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause said processor to perform operations comprising:

receiving input from an organization to group a selected set of electric vehicle charging objects;

creating the group in response to the received input, wherein the created group includes as its members the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects; and

performing a set of one or more acts for the members of the group.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the medium further provides instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause said processor to perform the following operation:

receiving input from the organization that indicates the purpose of the group.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle charging station objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle charging stations respectively.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of administrator objects that represent a plurality of administrators respectively.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle operator objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle operators respectively.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the selected set of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicles respectively.

21. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein performing the set of acts for the members of the group includes performing the following:

receiving input from the organization to grant a set of one or more rights over the group to a different organization; and

granting the set of rights to the different organization.

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 21, wherein the set of rights is selected from the group consisting of network management rights, station management rights, station partner rights, installation rights, energy management rights, detailed usage analysis rights, and summary usage analysis rights.

23. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that provides instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause said processor to perform operations comprising

receiving input from a first organization to grant a set of one or more rights over a set of one or more groups of a plurality of electric vehicle charging objects to a second organization, wherein the first and second organizations are each entities that are associated with the electric vehicle charging service network;

and

granting the set of rights to the second organization.

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23, wherein the set of rights is selected from the group consisting of network management rights, station management rights, station partner rights, installation rights, energy management rights, detailed usage analysis rights, and summary usage analysis rights.

25. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle charging station objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle charging stations respectively.

26. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of administrator objects that represent a plurality of administrators respectively.

27. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle operator objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicle operators respectively.

28. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 23, wherein the set of groups of the plurality of electric vehicle charging objects includes a plurality of electric vehicle objects that represent a plurality of electric vehicles respectively.
