Abstract

A multi-region interactive display is provided. In some embodiments, a multi-region interactive display includes a display including a plurality of display regions, the display configured to provide content in at least a first display region and a second display region; a processor configured to select content for display in at least one of the display regions; and a memory coupled to the processor and configured to provide the processor with instructions, in which the first display region and second display region are configured so that when a first user interacts with the first display region, a second user'"'"'s view of the second display region is at least partially visible.

Claims

1. A system, comprising:

a display including a plurality of display regions, the display configured to provide content in at least a first display region and a second display region;

a processor configured to;

select content for display on at least one of the display regions; and

a memory coupled to the processor and configured to provide the processor with instructions,

wherein the first display region and second display region are configured so that when a first user interacts with the first display region, a second user'"'"'s view of the second display region is at least partially visible.

2. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the system is a multimedia kiosk.

3. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the system is a multimedia jukebox.

4. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the system is an interactive retail store kiosk, wherein the kiosk includes at least two modes of operation that can be configured based on a toggle setting or programmed for use based on a programming schedule.

5. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the system is connected to a network, wherein the network is in network communication with an Internet.

6. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the system is connected to a wireless network, wherein the wireless network is in network communication with an Internet.

7. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

display persistent video on the second display region.

8. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

display persistent advertising on the second display region.

9. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

display persistent advertising on the second display region, wherein the persistent advertising is based at least in part on the selected content for display on the first display region.

10. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

receive an indication for the selected content for display on the first display region, wherein the selected content includes an interactive application; and

display an advertisement on the second display region, wherein the advertisement is selected based at least in part on the selected content.

11. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

display an advertisement on the second display region, wherein the advertisement is selected based on one or more of the following;

a location of the system, a selected content being displayed on the first display region, and one or more selections received by the first user, wherein the location of the system is configured or automatically determined based on a location awareness determination.

12. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the processor is further configured to:

display location based media on at least one of the display regions, wherein the location of the system is configured or automatically determined based on a location awareness determination.

13. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the display further includes a belt region, the display further configured to provide selectable applications in the belt region;

and

wherein the processor further configured to;

select applications for display in the belt region.

14. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the display further includes a belt region, the display further configured to provide selectable applications in the belt region;

and

wherein the processor is further configured to;

select a plurality of applications for display in the belt region,

wherein the plurality of applications include one or more of the following;

a text message application, a photo application, an advertising application, a music application, a video application, a game application, a map application, a services application, and a training application.

15. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the display is a touch screen;

and

wherein the processor is further configured to;

receive a touch based indication to select content for display in at least one of the display regions.

16. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the display is a touch screen;

and

wherein the processor is further configured to;

receive a touch gesture based indication to select content for display in at least one of the display regions.

17. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the display is a capacitive touch screen and further includes a belt region that separates the first display region and the second display region, the display configured to provide selectable applications in the belt region;

and

wherein the processor is further configured to;

select a plurality of applications for display in the belt region; and

receive a touch gesture based indication to select among the plurality of applications for display in the first display region; and

wherein the plurality of applications include one or more of the following;

a text message application, a photo application, an advertising application, a music application;

a video application, a game application, a. map application, a services application, and a training application.

18. The system recited in claim 1, wherein the system further comprises:

a payment component, wherein the payment component receives payment for use of one or more applications or one or more services provided by the system; and

wherein the processor is further configured to;

request payment for use of one or more applications or one or more services provided by the system; and

wherein the one or more applications or one or more services provided by the system include one or more of the following;

a text message application, a photo application, an advertising application, a music application;

a video application, a game application, a food ordering application, a drink ordering application, a concierge service, and a taxi service.

19. A method, comprising:

displaying content on a plurality of display regions, the display configured to provide content in at least a first display region and a second display region; and

selecting content for display on at least one of the display regions,

wherein the first display region and second display region are configured so that when a first user interacts with the first display region, a second user'"'"'s view of the second display region is at least partially visible.

20. A computer program product, the computer program product being embodied in a computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:

displaying content on a plurality of display regions, the display configured to provide content in at least a first display region and a second display region; and

selecting content for display on at least one of the display regions,

wherein the first display region and second display region are configured so that when a first user interacts with the first display region, a second user'"'"'s view of the second display region is at least partially visible.
