Abstract

A personalized webpage gifting system is provided that includes a server that generates a graphical user interface (GUI) on a computing device for receiving recipient information associated with a recipient and one or more participants from a host. Using this information, the server creates a personal uniform resource locator (URL) based upon at least a portion of the recipient information, and generates a personalized webpage addressed by said personal uniform resource locator, the personalized webpage comprising personalized content for the recipient received from the host and the one or more participants.

Claims

1. A personalized webpage gifting system comprising:

a server in communication with a computing device and comprising at least one processor; and

an application executable by the at least one processor to;

generate a graphical user interface (GUI) for receiving recipient information associated with a recipient and one or more participants from a host;

create a personal uniform resource locator (URL) based upon at least a portion of the recipient information;

generate a personalized webpage addressed by said personal uniform resource locator, the personalized webpage comprising personalized content for the recipient received from the host and the one or more participants.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the application generates the GUI for receiving, from the host, one or more administrative operations associated with the personalized webpage.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the application restricts the participants from performing the administrative operations.

4. The system of claim 2, wherein the administrative operations comprise at least one of a delivery date that the personalized webpage is to be made available to the recipient, one or more content features to be included in the personalized webpage, an addition or deletion of at least one of the participant users.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein the application generates one or more content features to be included in the personalized webpage, the one or more content features selected by the host user.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein one content feature comprises an announcement board that is populated with user-supplied content provided by at least one of the participants and the host.

7. The system of claim 5, wherein one content feature comprises a scrapbook.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein one content feature comprises a group video comprising user-supplied content contributed by the host and the participants.

9. The system of claim 1, wherein the application receives gift card information associated with a gift card for the recipient, and activates the gift card using a financial account of at least one of the host or participants.

10. The system of claim 9, wherein the application generates analytics associated with the recipient, and displays suggested gift cards according to the generated analytics.

11. A method comprising:

generating a graphical user interface (GUI) for receiving recipient information associated with a recipient and one or more participants from a host;

creating a personal uniform resource locator (URL) based upon at least a portion of the recipient information; and

generating a personalized webpage addressed by said personal uniform resource locator, the personalized webpage comprising personalized content for the recipient received from the host and the one or more participants.

12. The method of claim 11, further comprising generating the GUI for receiving, from the host, one or more administrative operations associated with the personalized webpage.

13. The method of claim 12, further comprising restricting the participants from performing the administrative operations.

14. The method of claim 12, wherein the administrative operations comprise at least one of a delivery date that the personalized webpage is to be made available to the recipient, one or more content features to be included in the personalized webpage, an addition or deletion of at least one of the participant users.

15. The method of claim 11, further comprising generating one or more content features to be included in the personalized webpage, the one or more content features selected by the host user.

16. The method of claim 11, further comprising receiving gift card information associated with a gift card for the recipient, and activates the gift card using a financial account of at least one of the host or participants.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising generating analytics associated with the recipient, and displays suggested gift cards according to the generated analytics.

18. A personalized gifting system comprising:

a server in communication with a computing device and comprising at least one processor; and

an application stored in at least one memory and executable by the at least one processor of the server for generating a graphical user interface (GUI) on the computing device to;

receive, from the GUI, recipient information associated with a recipient from a user of the computing device;

receive, from the GUI, at least one of user-supplied audio or video content from the user;

receive, from the GUI, information associated with a merchant of a gift card and a monetary amount to be associated with the gift card from the user; and

transmit the user-supplied audio or video content and the gift card to the recipient.

19. The personalized gifting system of claim 18, wherein the gift card comprises an electronic gift card (e-gift Card), the application further executable to electronically transmit the e-gift card and the user-supplied audio or video content to the recipient.

20. The personalized gifting system of claim 19, wherein the application is further executable to transmit the e-gift card and the user-supplied audio or video content as an element of a personalized webpage that is personalized according to the recipient.

21. The personalized gifting system of claim 19, wherein the application is further executable to electronically transmit the e-gift card and the user-supplied content using at least one of an email message or a short messaging service (SMS) message.

22. The personalized gifting system of claim 18, wherein the gift card comprises a physical gift card, the application further executable to facilitate the generation of a gift card holder from the received user-supplied content, and facilitate the transmission of the physical gift card and the gift card holder to the recipient.

The personalized gifting system of claim 18, wherein the application is further executable to transmit at least a portion of the user-supplied audio or video content to the recipient prior to transmitting the gift card to the recipient, the portion of the user-supplied audio or video content comprising teaser information associated with the gift card to be transmitted to the recipient.

24. The personalized gifting system of claim 22, wherein the application is further executable to electronically transmit the portion of the user-supplied content using at least one of an email message or a short messaging service (SMS) message.

25. The personalized gifting system of claim 18, wherein the memory stores a plurality of video templates, the application further executable to:

receive, from the GUI, selection of at least one video template from the user;

combine the user-supplied audio or video content with the selected video template; and

transmit the combined user-supplied audio or video content and the selected video template to the recipient.

26. The personalized gifting system of claim 18, wherein the application is further executable to receive the user-supplied content by interfacing with one or more peripheral devices of the computing device.

27. A personalized gifting method comprising:

generating a graphical user interface (GUI) for receiving recipient information associated with a recipient and one or more participants from a host;

receiving, from a GUI, recipient information associated with a recipient from a user of the computing device;

receiving, from the GUI, at least one of user-supplied audio or video content from the user;

receiving, from the GUI, information associated with a merchant of a gift card and a monetary amount to be associated with the gift card from the user; and

transmitting the user-supplied audio or video content and the gift card to the recipient.

28. The method of claim 27, further comprising electronically transmitting the e-gift card and the user-supplied audio or video content to the recipient, wherein the gift card comprises an electronic gift card.

29. The method of claim 28, further comprising transmitting the e-gift card and the user-supplied audio or video content as an element of a personalized webpage that is personalized according to the recipient.

30. The method of claim 28, further comprising electronically transmitting the e-gift card and the user-supplied content using at least one of an email message or a short messaging service (SMS) message.

31. The method of claim 27, further comprising:

facilitating the generation of a gift card holder from the received user-supplied content; and

facilitating the transmission of the physical gift card and the gift card holder to the recipient, the gift card comprising a physical gift card.

32. The method of claim 27, further comprising transmitting at least a portion of the user-supplied audio or video content to the recipient prior to transmitting the gift card to the recipient, the portion of the user-supplied audio or video content comprising teaser information associated with the gift card to be transmitted to the recipient.

33. The method of claim 27, further comprising:

receiving, from the GUI, selection of at least one video template from the user;

combining the user-supplied audio or video content with the selected video template; and

transmitting the combined user-supplied audio or video content and the selected video template to the recipient.
