one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the programs including instructions for;
displaying a portion of an electronic document on the touch screen display, wherein;
the electronic document has a electronic document length; and
the displayed portion of the electronic document has a displayed portion length that is less than the electronic document length;
detecting a single finger tap on the touch screen display in a predefined area at the top of the touch screen display, wherein the predefined area at the top of the touch screen display includes a status bar for the portable electronic device; and
in response to detecting the single finger tap on the touch screen display in the predefined area at the top of the touch screen display, translating the electronic document to display a top portion of the electronic document.

Abstract
A computer-implemented method for use in conjunction with a computing device with a touch screen display comprises displaying a portion of a web page in a web browser application without concurrently displaying a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) entry area for inputting URLs of web pages. A gesture is detected in a predefined area at the top of the touch screen display. In response to detecting the gesture in the predefined area at the top of the touch screen display, the URL entry area is displayed.
