Abstract

This specification related to a mobile terminal and a control method thereof. The mobile terminal includes a display unit to output an electronic document page including at least one object, and a controller to select one area on the page in response to a touch input applied onto the display unit, and control the display unit to display the selected one area in a distinguishing manner from the page.

Claims

1. A mobile terminal comprising:

a display unit configured to display an electronic document page including at least one object; and

a controller configured to;

select at least one area of the displayed electronic document page in response to a first touch input applied to the display unit; and

control the display unit to display the at least one area such that the at least one area is distinguished from other areas of the displayed electronic document page.

2. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to set attribute information related to a visual appearance of at least the at the least one area or the other areas of the displayed electronic document page in order to identify selection of the at least one area.

The terminal of claim 2, wherein the controller is further configured to adjust a three-dimensional (3D) depth value of each of the displayed at least one area such that each of the displayed at least one area is displayed as a 3D stereoscopic image having a different 3D depth value than each of the other of the displayed at least one area.

4. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the controller is further configured to:

identify at least one object within the selected at least one area; and

identify at least one function executable using the identified at least one object.

The terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to replace the displayed electronic document page with a first execution screen corresponding to one of the identified at least one function in response to a second touch input applied to the display unit, the second touch input different than the first touch input.

6. The terminal of claim 5, wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to continue displaying the identified at least one object when the displayed electronic document page is replaced by the first execution screen.

The terminal of claim 5, wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to replace the first execution screen with a second execution screen corresponding to another of the identified at least one function in response to a third touch input applied to the display unit while the first execution screen is displayed, the another of the identified at least one function different than the one of the identified at least one function.

8. The terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to:

control the display unit to display at least one function icon corresponding to each of the identified at least one function; and

to execute a function corresponding to one function icon of the identified at least one function icon in association with one object of the identified at least one object when the one object is dragged to the one function icon.

9. The terminal of claim 4, wherein the controller is further configured to at least copy or save the identified at least one object in response to a user selection, the copying or saving performed according to different methods based on a type of the identified at least one object.

10. The terminal of claim 1, wherein the first touch input comprises touching at least three points on the display unit and the controller is further configured to:

select an area formed by the at the least three points as the at least one area; and

control the display unit to display the at least three points and a virtual area corresponding to the at least three points such that the at least three points and the virtual area are distinguishable from the other areas of the displayed electronic document page.

11. A mobile terminal comprising:

a display unit configured to display a first home screen page including at least one object; and

a controller configured to;

execute an edit mode for changing position information related to one object of the displayed at least one object in response to a first touch input applied to the one object;

control the display unit to replace the displayed first home screen page with a second home screen page in response to a second touch input applied to the display unit, the second home screen page different than the first home screen page; and

control the display unit to arrange the one object on the first home page screen page or the second home screen page based on a user selection.

12. The terminal of claim 11, wherein the controller is further configured to:

set a three-dimensional depth value of the one object such that the one object is displayed three-dimensionally; and

control the display unit to continuously display the one object when the displayed first home screen page is replaced with the second home screen page.

13. The terminal of claim 12, wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to display the first or second home screen page and display a first or second object group,

wherein the first object group comprises objects included in the displayed first home screen page and the second object group comprises objects included in the displayed second home screen page,

wherein the displayed first or second home screen page and the displayed first or second object group have different three-dimensional depth values, and

wherein a three-dimensional depth value of the displayed one object is different than depth values of the displayed first or second home screen page and depth values of the displayed first or second object group.

14. The terminal of claim 13, wherein the controller is further configured to control the display unit to display objects included in the displayed first or second object group to have different three-dimensional depth values according to an association with the displayed one object.

15. A method of displaying information in a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

displaying an electronic document page including at least one object on a display unit;

selecting at least one area of the displayed electronic document page in response to a first touch input applied to the display unit; and

displaying the at least one area as a three-dimensional (3D) stereoscopic image such that the at least one area is distinguished from other areas of the displayed electronic document page.

16. The method of claim 15, further comprising adjusting a 3D depth value of each of the displayed at least one area such that each of the at least one area is displayed as a 3D stereoscopic image having a different 3D depth value than each of the other of the displayed at least one area.

17. The method of claim 15, further comprising:

identifying at least one object within the selected at least one area;

identifying at least one function executable using the identified at least one object; and

replacing the displayed electronic document page with a first execution screen corresponding to one of the identified at least one function in response to a second touch input applied to the display unit while continuing to display the identified at least one object, the second touch input different than the first touch input.

18. The method of claim 17, further comprising:

displaying at least one function icon corresponding to each of the identified at least one function; and

executing a function corresponding to one function icon of the identified at least one function icon in association with one object of the identified at least one object when the one object is dragged to the one function icon.

19. The method of claim 17, further comprising at least copying or saving the identified at least one object in response to a user selection, the copying or saving performed according to different methods based on a type of the identified at least one object.

20. The method of claim 15, wherein the first touch input comprises touching at least three points on the display unit and further comprising:

selecting an area formed by the at the least three points as the at least one area; and

displaying the at least three points and a virtual area corresponding to at least three points such that the at least three points and the virtual area are distinguishable from the other areas of the displayed electronic document page.
