Abstract

A device is provided for fastening a battery module (2) to a bodyshell (1) of a motor vehicle. The battery module has a battery (15) and a support (16) connected fixedly to the battery. The support (16) has an undercut (22) that interacts with an undercut (11) on the bodyshell. Such a connection can be produced in a simple manner and, moreover, is reliably secure in the event of a crash, in particular a rear crash of the motor vehicle.

Claims

1. An assembly for securing a battery module to a bodyshell of a motor vehicle, the battery module having a battery, the assembly comprising:

a support connected fixedly to the battery;

attachments for fastening the support to the bodyshell;

at least one first undercut on the bodyshell and at least one second undercut on the support that interacts with the first undercut.

2. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the battery is a high voltage battery.

3. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the second undercut of the support is in contact with the first undercut of the bodyshell when the support is fastened to the bodyshell.

4. The assembly of claim 3, wherein the first and second undercuts of the bodyshell and the support are supported on each other in the event of an impact on the rear of the motor vehicle, immediately at the onset of the impact.

5. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the bodyshell is in a rear region of the motor vehicle and has a battery box for insertion of the battery.

6. The assembly of claim 5, wherein the battery rests on a base of the battery box and the support rests on an upper side of the battery and on an upper side of the bodyshell.

7. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the battery is arranged in the transverse direction of the motor vehicle.

8. The assembly of claim 1, wherein the bodyshell has left and right rear longitudinal members on respective sides of the motor vehicle and front and rear brackets fixedly connected to each of the longitudinal members, the support being mounted on the brackets on both sides of the battery.

9. The assembly of claim 8, wherein each bracket is a forged or cast part.

10. The assembly of claim 8, wherein the support is made of steel.

11. The assembly of claim 8, wherein the support has two second undercuts and wherein the first undercuts are on the front brackets.

12. The assembly of claim 8, wherein the support has two screwing points to the bodyshell on each side of the battery.

13. The assembly of claim 12, wherein the support has holes for receiving screws, and the bodyshell has holes or threaded bores for the screws.

14. The assembly of claim 8, wherein the front and rear brackets on each of the longitudinal members form a constructional unit that has a front and a rear rest for the support.

15. The assembly of claim 8, wherein the first undercut is formed on a rear side of the front bracket and interacts with the second undercut on the support.

16. A motor vehicle, comprising:

a bodyshell having a rear region in proximity to a rear end of the vehicle, an upwardly open battery box in the rear region of the bodyshell, first attachment holes on the bodyshell in proximity to the battery box, and at least one rearward facing first undercuts on the bodyshell in proximity to the battery box;

a battery module having a battery disposed in the battery box and a support connected fixedly to the battery and projecting beyond the battery, at least one second undercut on the support and contacting the first undercut, and second attachment holes formed in the support and registered with the first attachment holes when the second undercut contacts the first undercut; and

attachment members securing the battery module to the bodyshell at the registered attachment holes.

17. The motor vehicle of claim 16, wherein the bodyshell includes left and right brackets at opposite left and right sides of the battery box, the first attachment holes and the first undercuts being formed on the brackets.

The motor vehicle of claim 17, wherein the bodyshell includes the left and right brackets are left and right front brackets, the bodyshell further comprising left and right rear brackets rearward of the respective front brackets and formed with rear first attachment holes therein, the support of the battery module having rear second attachment holes that register with the rear first attachment holes when the second undercut contacts the first undercut.

19. The motor vehicle of claim 18, wherein the left rear bracket is unitary with the left front bracket and the right rear bracket is unitary with the right front bracket.

20. The motor vehicle of claim 16, wherein the battery rests on a base of the battery box and the support secured on an upper side of the battery and rests on an upper side of the bodyshell.
